Great episode on the latest Energy Gang Podcast Ed Crooks Wood Mackenzie – so many punch the air moments when it came to their analysis of the need for more Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) and Virtual Power Plants (VPPs). We love to hear it! Here are some of the WattCarbon team’s top outtakes from the conversation: 💬“I think demand management is such a potential resource because we haven’t really tried it. We really just haven’t put any effort into this.” –Samantha Gross, The Brookings Institution. 💬“If it’s cheaper and simpler, I think people will do it.” –Samantha 💬“I think if we had a really – what I call democratized – a distributed system – maybe we really could get there and maybe demand management could make a really big difference… That’s my utopian view of where we go in the future.” –Amy Myers-Jaffe, NYU’s Energy, Climate Justice and Sustainability Lab. 🎧Listen here: https://lnkd.in/gJrSWFSv #cleanenergy #energytransition #climatepodcast

Podcast superfan and creator through heremedia.studio. Renewable energy professional at Energy Bay. Driven by the 'why' of the renewable energy transition, fascinated by the 'who', working daily on the 'what'.
On this day, Earth Day, 6 years ago on 2018, Rich Bowden and I launched Climactic, a podcast by and for Australia's climate community. That show, from humble beginnings, became a network of over a dozen podcasts from people across the breadth of those taking action on climate. Teachers, businesspeople, psychologists, students, and activists. Today, we're happy that the landscape has changed dramatically. There's no longer a gaping hole where the conversations on climate should be. We have, finally, moved into action mode. And that's why Here Media has just launched Transmission; to bring you into conversations with not just the dreamers, but the doers, in the renewable energy transition. If you're fascinated by, working in, or dreaming about the transition, and what it will mean for us, our societies, and our reshaping of the future away from fossil-fueled doom, this is for you! There's another transmission on the way.
How are we going to get batteries into restaurants and corner stores? David Hauser has a solution.
