They told me healthcare was no place for a lady leader. Boy, were they wrong. Here’s my take!!! Just sitting here thinking about this wild ride of ENTREPRENEURSHIP and What it’s like being a woman in the evolving healthcare game. Let me tell you, it’s been quite the journey! You know how it goes—stepping up to lead can really test you. I’ve had my share of ups and downs, Dealing with those age-old biases and Proving that yes, women can lead with the best of them. It’s tough but oh so rewarding. Let’s talk innovation because Healthcare is screaming for it. We’re not just talking tech, but how we actually make healthcare feel more human. Being a woman in this space? It’s like we have this built-in superpower for empathy and It’s amazing how that transforms patient care. Honestly, it’s all about making sure our patients feel like they’re not just another number. At ELAK, we’re all about creating that warm, supportive vibe that makes everyone feel taken care of. People are absolutely incredible.... In the past 6 months I have connected to 40+ people that have committed their lives to improving the lives of others. The stories of dedication to utilizing their place of privilege to elevate others' experience is inspiring and gives me #hopeforhealthcare. Today, a female executive and thought leader spent 30 minutes being present. She offered the most kind, candid, and critical feedback with takeaways I can enact today. When Wisdom is Shared You know that big dusty book on the bookshelf, filled with wisdom, just sitting there? Aashi Arora, MHA, PCC took that book down, dusted it off and shared her deep wisdom with us today at #ILVW. The meeting started with a a suggestion to change our zoom name to a wisdom sharing name. [Mine was Empathy Actioner.] Then the seeds of wisdom were watered. Aashi Arora, MHA, PCC is a brilliant healthcare leader coach who is an agent of dispersal when it comes to wisdom. Her RUKUS message asks us to: challenge the status quo, be bold and different, and create effective disruption. We all have wisdom in us...but don't be a dusty book. Open your wise pages and share. Nothing changes if we don't change it; our shared collective wisdom can change the world we live in. In the breakthrough rooms we looked at two questions: 1.What is your WISDOM that you want to share with the world? 2. How do you want it to go viral? Aashi's radio show, Leaders Creating Ruckus, has reached 4M listeners. That's spreading the seeds and watering them! Aashi Arora, MHA, PCCis a role model to model ourselves after. The breakthrough groups came back with a common theme: #connection. Felix Boecker called it 'force multipliers.' Inclusive connection is what #ILVW is all about.
