In our January Tiny Talk series, Manny and Alicia shed light on the vital topic of feeding challenges in babies born with cleft lip and/or palate. Their discussion highlighted the common need for NG tube feeding and the struggles with bottle feeding due to the inability to create enough suction. One family's story of navigating these challenges, yet finding ways to adapt and succeed, provides both insight and hope. This session not only raises awareness but also offers support to those facing similar hurdles. #CleftLipAwareness #FeedingChallenges #TinyTalks #IknownewbornsTinyTalk #SupportiveCommunity

Each feeding session for a baby typically lasts between 20 to 40 minutes. However, this can vary depending on the baby's age, feeding method, and individual needs. Newborns may take longer as they learn to latch and feed effectively, while older babies may be more efficient. It's important to let your baby feed until they seem satisfied. #PMBJP #WBW2024 #WorldBreastfeedingWeek #healthcare #JanAushadhi

Its Child Safety Week!! We know children love to go and see their grandparents, aunties, uncles and even their great grandparents!! Did you realise that their may be many health and safety aspects that you may need to look out for when it comes to your children. Making sure your relative medication is out of reach. 💊 We know that many of our clients or vulnerable people often like to leave their medication in an easy to reach place for them to self medicate but this place may also be an easy place for children to reach too! it may be worth having a chat with your loved one about moving them when the grandchildren pop round. 2. Making sure that button batteries are out of reach. 🔋 You may find that button batteries are all over the house in hold objects but for those family members who have things like hearing aids you can find that they may be in places that are easy to reach for children or have been dropped and are on the floor. Try to have a quick look around and move them to a different place for the time being whilst their are small children are present. If you feel like a child may of swallowed one ACT FAST and call 999 or go straight to A and E for best medical support. 3. Making sure nappy sacks are out of reach. Many people who use incontinence pads often use nappy sacks to dispose of old pads. Whilst young children are present it may be best to move them as small children may breath it in resulting in the bag clingy to face and causing chocking or suffocating. 4. Checking your families smoke alarm. 🚨 It is always best to check your families smoke alarm to avoid any possible harm caused by fire alarms. If your family member receives care from Platinum Healthcare we can test this for them on a monthly basis to ensure they are working correctly. 5. Ensuring that equipment like hoists, rollators etc. are kept out of reach If you want to find out more about how to keep children safe go to: https://lnkd.in/eHZSxz3E You could even call or email us at 01789 509337 and info@platinumhealthcareuk.com for free advice #childsafetyweek #platinumhealthcare #platinum #healthcare #domicilarycare #careworkers #care

Hey 👋🏽 Everybody, While your celebrating 🎉 this weekend stay aware (and at all times) of all possible accident’s including with children and babies. This video shows a child choking expert below and offers great tips, advice and offers charts to make sure you have the right info if you should need it… According to the National Library of Medicine (NLM) about 66 to 77 children younger than 10 years die from choking on food each year in the United States. More than 10,000 ER visits annually can be attributed to choking on food among children aged 14 years and younger. 75% of choking deaths occur in children under the age of three A real risk factor is the windpipe of a child which is narrow… and the size of a drinking straw, making choking a serious hazard. According to N.Y.gov choking is the fourth leading cause of unintentional death in children under the age of 5. Choking is the greatest risk for injury and death. Toys, household items and foods can all be a choking hazard. For Additional info and facts go to cdc.gov.
