Last week, the Space Development Agency (SDA) announced another successful testing milestone with Link 16. In addition to successfully demonstrating the first-ever Link 16 network entry from low-Earth orbit to a Navy ship operating in international waters, SDA was able to enhance its operational realism for several test cases by also transmitting Link 16 messages from the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (#PWSA) Tranche 0 constellation to an aircraft parked on the carrier’s deck. These successful tests continue to demonstrate using Link 16 utility from space to other DoD assets. The recent space to ship demonstration success follows the first-ever Link 16 network entry from space to ground during tests beginning in November 2023. The continuing demonstrations highlight the potential capability for beyond-line-of-sight targeting, improving real-time situational awareness, and global connectivity for the joint warfighter. These tests lay the foundation for more complex Tranche 0 Link 16 testing while accelerating the operationalization of Tranche 1 Link 16 capabilities. #SemperCitius #PWSA #Satellites #Space #Defense #Army #Navy #Marines #AirForce #SpaceForce #Link16
“Enhance operational realism” (great phrase) should be an aspiration of all demos - especially if basic concepts have already been demonstrated. Congrats Space Development Agency
Outstanding!
Awesome !!! Know What You Have Use it accordingly Be ready to Pivot if needed
Amazing strides! Let’s go!
Moving forward!
NTR?
Keep CRUSHING IT it!

2moThis is a great example of work with what you've got. Link16 is not great, but that's what the warfighting systems use so instead of inventing a network/protocol that no one has, use the one you've got.
