The Body Shop's story illustrates the importance of continued #innovation and #adaptation to changes in the market. Their original disruption and leadership in branding, products and retail did not ensure sustained success in the face of ongoing change such as the emergence of #socialmedia and #digitalnative consumers. We hope that, as a pioneer and driver of positive change, The Body Shop can turn their business around. In the meantime, it’s a valuable lesson in maintaining market #leadership.

The recent news about the Body Shop got me thinking about the importance of leadership and differentiation to succeed. https://lnkd.in/ehFjPQ-C The Body Shop, in its hey day, broke boundaries with its ethical standpoint and its product ranges. I’m sure we have all owned or gifted body shop products (who didn’t love white musk back in the 80’s/90’s? 😁). Learning lessons from our failings, being innovative to remain competitive and acting on changes to be relevant to our target audience is a lesson to us all. The importance of strategy and leadership is something I’m sure we all could do with a little more of.
