Parkinson’s patients continue to grow in number. Visibility to this disease is seen in all aspects of our lives. Today Parkinson’s can be very normal work conversation when it wasn’t before. Celebrity death talk at the water cooler frequently includes the word Parkinson’s. Think about your work for a minute. Does your organization have a focus on disability awareness and advocacy? Really ? Does it? Do you have a Parkinson’s Hero in your organization? Many of us are always looking for things to get behind. Why not get behind your team. Does it make sense to give a Hero walk a go. Participation in these Hero walks just might be a way to communicate and strengthen your support both internally and in your communities. We are participating in the Grand Rapids Hero walk. Need a team to join. We are listed in the choices. We would love for all to join us in person or in spirit. It is a fun day. Give it some thought and hope to see you there.

Executive Director, Social Movement Strategist, Author & Speaker ✷ I Drive Justice-oriented Organizational Transformation
Howdy all! I'm very excited share that I've taken on the role of Executive Director of WildEarth Gaurdians! Thrilled to be joining this community of hard-charging and passionate advocates for people and the planet. I believe that Guardians stands as a beacon of hope and action in the realm of conservation. Guardians is unapologetic and uncompromising in its defense of the West’s majestic landscapes, magnificent wildlife, fragile climate, and dynamic river systems. For many years I have admired its bold systems-change approach to championing innovative environmental policies driven by grassroots engagement, and cutting-edge use of legal tools to hold decision-makers accountable. Guardians does what others say “can’t” be done, and that’s the same cloth from which I’m cut—challenging the status quo, strategically going after what the planet and people really need, and steering clear of false solutions. In other words, Guardians like to kick ass and so do I! We are thrilled to introduce Hop Hopkins as WildEarth Guardians’ new Executive Director! After an exhaustive national search, the board and staff of WildEarth Guardians unanimously chose Hop to lead the organization. Hop was born in Texas, has lived across the West, and has been organizing for over 25 years at the intersections of race, class, gender, and the environment. We put some questions to Hop for him to introduce himself– take a look. We’re so excited to welcome Hop to Guardians, and we think you will be too! Have you ever thought about how DEI efforts in the outdoor realm can improve peoples' lives? Did you know that 74% of communities of color in the contiguous United States live in nature-deprived areas, compared with just 23 percent of white communities?* This interesting article from the Outdoor Industry Association celebrates Hispanic leaders who are working to foster outdoor spaces that are inclusive, equitable, and diverse. Kudos to these people who are working to make sure everyone has access and feels welcome to enjoy the beauty of nature close to where they live. *Source: Vincent A. Landau, Meredith L. Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! 🍀 Today is not just about wearing green or hunting for four-leaf clovers. It's a day steeped in history, celebrating St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, known for bringing Christianity to the island and reportedly using the shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity. But how can we channel the spirit of St. Patrick's Day into property and community management? Easy! Here are a few tips: 🌿 Go Green: Not just with your outfit! Implement eco-friendly practices in your community. Think recycling programs, energy-efficient lighting, and encouraging bike-to-work days. 🎉 Community Engagement: Organize events that bring people together, much like the communal celebrations of St. Patrick's Day. A community potluck or a green-themed party can do wonders for neighborly bonds. 🌍 Inclusivity Matters: St. Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide, em we bracing people of all backgrounds. Ensure your community feels welcome and valued, regardless of their origin. 📚 Educate and Share: Use your community bulletin or social media to share fun facts about St. Patrick's Day, spreading knowledge and joy. Let's take inspiration from this day to not only wear green but also to think green and act in ways that foster a strong, inclusive, and joyful community. May the luck of the Irish be with you today and always! 🍀🏡🌟 #RESCONGreen #StPatricksDay #CommunityManagement #GoGreen #Inclusivity #Sustainability #PropertyManagement #CelebrateCommunity

Recently was “bombarded” by the algorithm on social media about public goodness….. in particular about folks all dressed to the Ts representing companies, orgs or political parties touting involvement in public good at staged speeches or high-end hosted dining events, etc. Convincing? IMHO not! The promotion of altruism or good causes shouldn’t be a projection of seemingly counterproductive glamourous imageries against the orginal organizational intent. Do not forget that you are not “the star” but the cause is. The most shining example of #PublicGood or be involved in a #CompanyOfGood is still this:
