2024 Prime Big Deal Days are a wrap! It was another event full of client wins, testing, learning, communication, collaboration, and patience. We had over 100 Acadia retail experts working around the clock and around the globe to make sure this #PrimeBigDealDay was the best our clients could have. It was not without its challenges with three weeks notice, new discount submission fees, increased CPCs and of course, ramped up competition across categories. Our team poured over the data as soon as PBDD closed to find the most important trends and results and drafted a comprehensive recap of Prime Big Deal Day 2024. Highlights in this recap include: 🔹 A newer promo type reigns supreme 🔹 Emergence of upper funnel for day-of tentpole event strategy 🔹 A few platform quirks that kept our team and clients on their toes On a personal note, I cannot say enough about the team I get to work with each and every day. Prime Big Deal Day is the start to the busiest time of year and the amount of work that goes into preparing for and executing spans months. The level of commitment, collaboration, grit, good humor and excellence, I saw from our team at Acadia was inspiring and I count myself as an incredibly lucky person for being able to work with this group of people. SXSW Sydney has proven once again to be the most rewarding networking event for creative industry professionals in Australia. It was great this year to see Chippendale activated with live music every night across a dozen venues there. Enmore Theatre venues hosted free public events in the inner west yesterday to spread SXSW vibes there too. The cinema premier screenings followed by Q&A sessions with film directors and actors were highly insightful. The premier of Plum brought tears to my eyes, a brave look at actions that lead to brain disease in professional athletes here which is bound to create tough change in our local sports culture. The games industry centralised around Ultimo with the impressive Fortress Sydney venue shining bright as the gamer capital of NSW, across the road from so much old real estate potential at UTS. The complimentary food and drinks really added to the networking experience and impressive venues like the Chinese Gardens of Friendship and Pumphouse Sydney again delivered on providing lovely natural feeling places for interaction and collaboration. I learnt last year this is one of those events where you just can't see it all. I didn't make time to eaves drop on panel conversations at ICC and the exhibition centre, a location that is saturated with free work trade shows on tech & innovation in Sydney, so it doesn't seem very festive to locals, but did hear the preprepared presentations were great there. Would be handy if SXSW Sydney went for a couple weeks like in SXSW Austin so you could see it all. I think it's great that corporate sponsors with advertising stands at Darling Harbour invest in activating music, screen, games, tech & innovation across Sydney and have a lot of respect for all the companies that invest in making SXSW happen. Their investment in revitalising arts culture in Sydney post-lockout-lockdown decade is commendable. Looking forward to next year, not to mention SXSW London launching there next June 👨🚀

As I close the door on my time at Beacon, in preparation for a whole new adventure in 2025, it's great to look back and reflect on what a journey the year was. 2024 was an incredible year of growth for me and of particular highlight was: - Delivering back to back to back to back record breaking quarters as Beacon soared 🚀 - Building such a strong go to market motion and all round working relationship with Nathan Varma. I'm seriously grateful for the trust, support, and insight you provided me this last year 🙏 I'd like to thank Fraser Robinson and Dmitri Izmailov and the whole Beacon team, it was an absolute pleasure working to establish Beacon as a market leader and having seen the product evolve over the last 18 months I'm certain 2025 will be another record breaking year. Outside of Beacon a couple more personal highlights include: - Seeing friends reach incredible milestones in their professional careers. Matt Williamson becoming a real life, exited founder, this guy is destined for big things 💪 - Discovering Jack Neicho's No Big Deal 🤷♂️, I finally managed to dive into some episodes over the christmas break, it's so refreshing to hear more stories from the sales floor.
