It's about inclusion. Our discussions on belonging and support were incredibly impactful and Natalynn Masters and Dana Wrann really touch on the wisdom shared amongst our speakers and our fellows. Together, let's champion inclusivity and empower each other! This year the Spurs Community Leadership Institute is focusing on critical women's issues. We are partnering with Self Financial, Inc. and joining forces with 30 exceptional women across San Antonio, Austin & South Texas to create a ripple effect of leadership, support, and tangible impact.

There is a lot of deserved woke and DEI pushback. Google's recent AI release is making the conversation more politicized. I personally am committed to diversity and am unashamed. The threshold is really simple per the Rooney rule developed in the NFL. They required at least one candidate of color to be interviewed for each coaching job. That seems like a pretty light lift. For Bonbon we want to make sure that every senior level position we make sure that we consider at least one woman or person of color. It is a small step that allows us to look beyond our immediate periphery for candidates that statistically produce better business outcomes. Yes diversity is good for business and it is proven to drive better business growth and enterprise value. https://lnkd.in/gT9dGShj
We are proud to announce that Bonbon has officially taken the Parity.org ParityPLEDGE. By signing this pledge, we promise to actively pursue gender and racial parity at all levels of our organization. We believe in the strength that diversity brings to our team and are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where women and people of color are empowered to thrive. This is more than just a pledge; it's a reflection of our ongoing commitment to build a more equitable and inclusive industry. We understand that change doesn't happen overnight, but we're dedicated to taking concrete steps towards this goal by promoting diversity in our leadership, ensuring equal pay for equal work, and creating opportunities for underrepresented groups. We invite our partners, clients, and peers to join us in this important commitment. Together, we can make a difference. Let's create a future where everyone, regardless of gender or race, has equal opportunities to succeed and lead. #DiversityAndInclusion #ParityPledge #EqualityForAll #InclusiveLeadership

Corporate boards are under pressure to diversify, driven by initiatives like NASDAQ's Board Diversity Rule, but progress remains slow, with only a small percentage of BIPOC women holding corporate board seats. The lack of diversity stems from systemic issues, including limited opportunities and connections for Black and brown women in senior positions, starting from early in their careers. To address this, efforts must begin early, fostering confidence, leadership skills, and connections for BIPOC girls from middle school onwards, while mentorship and sponsorship from successful BIPOC adults are crucial for paving the way to diverse corporate leadership in the future.
