Nice. ➡️ The UK-based company, with operations also in Massachusetts, raised an impressive $170 million. This brings their total funding to $290 million since their launch in 2023 and this round was led by Forbion, the round included returning investors Syncona and Oxford Science Enterprises, as well as new investors TCGX and Advent Life Sciences. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 of AGTC-501, a gene therapy for X-linked retinitis pigmentosa (XLRP), currently in a Phase 2/3 trial. Beacon also plans to initiate a Phase 1/2 trial for its dry age-related macular degeneration program.
