Many of these #veterans and #military charities are highly efficient, but may not use your donation for between 3 and 17 years. If you are hoping to support the needs of veterans in the here and now versus in the distant future, you may want to take a look at our list. https://lnkd.in/gtxNyf8B #ratings #assets #nonprofits #donate #donations #hoarding #programs #donations

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. Let's take a moment to remember those that put their lives on the line daily to keep up safe. Please, slow down! Remember, if something were to happen to you today, your employer would have you replaced before your obituary was published in the newspaper. I have spent several years working in that area. Every phone call needed you there yesterday. #dispatchers for #trucking companies, I urge you to adopt my phone #etiquette. I can understand that things come up and is out of everyone's control; however, I would get calls that said they needed this amount of water or mud hauled by tomorrow morning. My first question, "How long have you known about this job?" They have typically known about the job a week at least. My second question, "Why are you just now calling me?" Usually a bit of silence on the other end of the line. Me: "Failure to plan on your behalf does not constitute and emergency on my behalf." If you are one of those company men that had the privilege of dealing with me, I hope you are giving the trucking companies more of a heads up today. I will get your job done, but don't wait until the last possible minute to call and expect me to drop everything.
From Texas Department of Public Safety - West Texas Region: Trooper Kevin Ramirez Vasquez, U.S. Army veteran and recent graduate of DPS class A-23, was working a crash in Ector County, when a vehicle struck an Ector County Sheriff's department vehicle, critically injuring Trooper Vasquez who was outside of the vehicle. The Deputy, who was in his vehicle was injured as well. Trooper Vasquez was flown to a hospital in Lubbock and is in critical condition. The DPS Troopers Foundation is raising money for the Vasquez family through Help-a-Hero. A fee is charged up front, 100% of donations go to the family. If you are able, please donate. Prayers for all involved. https://lnkd.in/gsuWH7D3

There are over 100,000 Military Children in the UK with a parent actively serving in HM Armed Forces, yet there are a many people who have no idea what it is like to be a military child. It can be a tough life, with frequent moves and often living far away from family and friends. April is the Month of the Military Child and it is a time to celebrate them and their resilience and sacrifices. As well as highlighting how awesome these young people are, I want to take this opportunity to spread the word about some charities who support military children, these are... - Scotty’s Little Soldiers - who have given my girls huge amounts of support over the years since my late husband died. They provide amazingly for our bereaved Forces Children. It's not just the big things like respite breaks and parties, it's the small things, such as never forgetting the Death Anniversary and sending something for the girls birthdays and Christmas, which make such a difference. Plus, the charity provides a vital link to the military - which was a way of life for those pivotal early years. - Little Troopers - a fantastic organisation founded by Louise Fetigan to support all military children who have a parent(s) serving in the British Armed Forces, regular or reserve. - As a Royal Marine family I also want to shout out to The RMA charity who helped us out when Simon was alive through the RNRM Children’s Fund. In addition, since Simon died the Royal Marine family have looked after us and it’s now a true privilege to be a Trustee of the charity. Please share this post to spread the word about these amazing military charities. And, if you have been supported by these charities, I'd love you to share the positive effect it's had on your children to let others know where donations go. #MonthOfTheMilitaryChild #RainbowHunting

The top comment I hear from our Beyond The Brotherhood fellows as they onboard is "I am so glad there is a screening process". Why would someone want to be screened before receiving benefits from a 501c3? Because everyone raises money with the Navy SEAL name but that is not where the money usually goes. Ask around - it's true. At BTB, we transition ONLY screened and selected Navy SEALs of character. That's it. There is an administrative load, especially in our first year when we had to set up the 501c3 - our program percentage was 71%, that means that 71 cents of every donation dollar went to the cause. (In the non-profit world, 67% is considered really good). This year, we are at 89%. As we come into the giving season, hit me up if you want to know how we are spending your donations. We squeeze every bit of benefit out of every dollar and it goes where you think it does - to build the next chapter in the lives of our nation's greatest warriors.

42 Days Until... ...The 2024 NYC Navy Seal Swim. I am humbled by the support of my efforts to participate and honor the brave men and women who served our great nation, first responders, and firefighters. To date, we have raised $4,000 towards our $5,000 goal!!!!!! Any support would be greatly appreciated and all proceeds go directly to Navy SEAL Foundation. What your support could mean: 1. $500 could fund travel for a wounded Seal or SWCC in need of specialized care for their return to duty. 2. $250 could provide graduate-level test prep assistance for a transitioning Seal or SWCC. 3. $150 could fund one session of grief counseling for a Gold Star family member. 4. $100 could pay for a physical rehabilitation session for a Seal or SWCC 5. $50 could cover two hours of Respite Child Care for one family of a deployed service member. 6. $25 could provide one meal for a Command Memorial. 7. $10 could fund 1 water bottle for a NWS kid at Summer Camp. Something to think about
A decade after Breaux Burns deployed to the Philippines during Typhoon Haiyan’s landfall in 2013, he reflected on his experience. Burns, a Marine Corps veteran who now serves as a fire captain, has volunteered for six other international operations with TR since. "Our team worked tirelessly, with no breaks in between. But it didn’t matter. For each of us, it was never about our own hardships; it was always about the people of the Philippines, many of whom I’ll never forget." Join us in doubling down on our international efforts! Until the end of April, your donation will be matched by a generous donor, helping us expand our commitment to meeting the needs of communities worldwide. Donate Now! https://trusa.co/IntlMatch

Since 2014, the Come Back Alive Foundation, dedicated to competent assistance to the army, has raised more than 11 billion hryvnias, or about 341 million dollars. In 2022, it also became the first Ukrainian charity foundation licensed to purchase military and dual-use goods.
