The back deck of Atlantic Wind is being pulled up in readiness for a major fit out by charterers …. Installation of a full WROV spread , comprehensive survey package , accommodation units to increase capacity for 30+! This is all in conjunction with the brand new high power HPU on deck powering the newly installed 40 ton A frame, 50 ton winch and 7.5T knuckleboom crane. This is the next ship from Atlantic Oceanic LLC to mobilise into offshore wind in the U.S. NE! A complex mobilisation but evidence that the repurposed GOM O&G Jones Act fleets can be utilised in offshore wind in the U.S, employing American crews and using American shipyards to prepare. ESNA - Espeland and Skomedal Naval Architects and Strategic Marine unite to bring SES CTVs to Market. ✨🚢 Spain, March 22, 2024 - ESNA and Strategic Marine (“SM”) announced their strategic partnership aimed at developing Surface Effect Ship Crew Transfer Vessels (SES CTVs) for a multitude of applications. The vessel design combines enhanced speed, increased operational wave height capabilities, and reduced fuel oil consumption, promising unmatched efficiency and performance in maritime operations. With plans already underway to initiate construction of the inaugural offshore windfarm SES CTV in the fourth quarter of 2024, the collaboration marks a significant milestone in maritime innovation. We've helped to achieve reduced fuel consumption and emissions – with class leading speed of over 30 knots, 25T of bollard push, guaranteed transfer height of over 2mHs, with low seasick levels due to reduced heave, pitch and roll, and impressive fuel burn performance. The growing demand for new subsea project vessels is pushing designers and operators to prioritise innovation more than ever before. New CSVs will utilise methanol and battery-powered dual-fuel propulsion systems to cut emissions and improve the efficiency of all offshore projects, whether at the construction or inspection and maintenance phases. More unmanned vessels, such as USVs and ROVs, are also needed to meet the demands of subsea projects. A growing number of these vessels are currently undergoing testing and development, and greater endurance and operating depth are still top of the priority list.
