Shellfish Association Of Great Britain ( SAGB) have recently revamped their website and have chosen to prominently share some ‘how to’ videos from the home page around killing live decapods at home. SAGB were a key organisation involved with developing the Industry Code of Practice, which should be released soon, so it doesn’t bode well that their advice to the public who are killing live decapods at home is look on the internet for instructions! The Industry Codes of Practice are the first animal welfare standards for decapods since they have been recognised as sentient. If the advice from the leading shellfish organisation on humane killing is google it on the internet, what will these welfare codes look like? It’s time to stop selling live decapods to the public as science questions the possibility of untrained people being able to humanely kill a live animal and society should catch up with that. https://lnkd.in/eXgHaAJ9 look at 1min 26secs #animalwelfare #decapods #ethicalbusiness

Americans are struggling to eat well: Only 1/10 Americans are eating enough fruits and vegetables (CDC) and 1/3 American adults are overweight (NIH). But nearly half of Americans (130 million people) claim to actively try to eat well. There is a need and a desire for a better way to eat healthy. So what is stopping us from eating better? 46% of U.S. adults said a barrier to eating healthy foods was their price (Cleveland Clinic) 25% of Americans stated that they had to little time to cook and prepare healthy foods (Cleveland Clinic) while 20% percent said they didn't know how to cook healthy foods (Cleveland Clinic). edggies proposes a solution in the form of dehydrated veggie sprinkles: a fun, stress-free way to eat healthy by removing barriers of cost, time, and inconvenience. As a bonus, edggies are flavor neutral, shelf-stable for 2 years, and portable (they are also certified organic and traceable and made by a family run farm). We are launching this summer with kale edggies and if you're interested in signing up for our waitlist go to edggies.com.

I had to add nutrition education to our summer program some how 😀. How can a Nutritionist with a PhD be organizing a summer program without a spice of nutrition education? Many parents reach out to me with questions on how to get their kids to eat our local meals and reduce their reliance on junk food. One of the best ways to achieve this is for the kids to know the nutrients these foods contain and how it will help them remain healthy, active and strong. Nobody wants to be sick; children don’t want to be sick too. Take advantage of this opportunity to learn how to make our delicious soups in a healthy way.
Your kids could learn how to make our delicious Nigerian soups this summer at ACC Hub on July 26th & 27th. 20% discount for early bird registration (code FG001) To pre-register your child for our next summer program click https://lnkd.in/dX89r3tK

Is your quality system not supporting your business? Let's fix that! 🤝 +25 years of corporate quality & food safety management experience, now using my knowledge and experience to help others.
When you don’t give in to the pain 🤕 My daughter’s horse 🐴 Pixie had a blister last week. Initially, we could see that she had some difficulties with walking, but she kept going like nothing was wrong. A few days later, she didn’t put her foot on the ground anymore, so we called the vet 🧑🏻⚕️ who did some first aid, but a more in depth treatment was necessary from the blacksmith . He removed the blister, and Pixie (and my daughter) is her happy self again 😊. Imagine, if we hadn’t called the vet and the blacksmith: her jumping career might have been over, no progress to be made, no wins anymore. At the day of the treatment, I also received a message form a quality team member of a previous client: “Bart, what did you think of our Quality & Food Safety Management in general? Most of the things you are talking about in your LinkedIn posts are not present. I can’t understand why they didn’t make more use of your knowledge and experience.” 🤷🏻 This is the blister in the organisation, the one you can’t see yet. It’s up to the higher management in the organisation to pick up on these concerns and see what can be done short term. They are the vet. See Vlitix as your blacksmith: we can take away that blister so you can better perform again as an organisation, and on quality in particular. 👉🏻 To the person who sent me that message: maybe it’s time to escalate your concerns, and who knows we will be working together again shortly. #quality #improvement #concern #horselife

Did you know? 🎃 The tradition of carving pumpkins for Halloween, known as "jack-o'-lanterns," started with carving turnips in Ireland! It wasn’t until the Irish immigrants brought the tradition to America that pumpkins became the spooky season staple we know today. #GroupLivingGoals #DurableDesign #addictionsrecovery #behavioralhealthcare #mindfuldesignsolutions #normativeenvironments #furnitureconcepts #projectplanning #spookyseason
