Very interesting two-pronged social media strategy coming out of Sesame Workshop this week. The Elmo story is probably far larger in the zeitgeist right now, but they also hit it big with engagement by running their #HelpBigBird campaign, which was a week-long storyline where Big Bird was, well... suddenly not big. It was a really fun juxtaposition in a lot of ways: The Big Bird storyline took several days, and gathered steam with each passing day as a result. It pulled engagement from all angles: people tweeting joke responses, people earnestly wanting to help Big Bird, and of course other Sesame Street accounts playing along. The Elmo tweet exploded as this was happening, suddenly and (as far as I could tell) largely out of the brand's control, but the team capitalized on it in big ways, taking the mostly comedic reaction as an avenue to promote emotional wellbeing resources. The Big Bird campaign even folded in by responding to Elmo's initial tweet with another "part" of the story as his check-in. Really impressive synergy, put to good use for good causes. https://lnkd.in/epHBbeMz

Another one of our fantastic campaigns which has made the shortlist in the @influencermarketingawards 2024! BEST CAUSE-LED CAMPAIGN Department for Culture, Media and Sport x 23red x Pepper #LonelinessLooksLike Loneliness is a pervasive issue affecting people from all walks of life at any time. While physical health receives significant attention, mental health and wellness are equally important to nurture. Pepper's #LonelinessLooksLike campaign aims to destigmatize feelings of loneliness among young people. The goal is to help them understand that everyone feels lonely sometimes and there are actions they can take to help themselves and others. By partnering with ongoing ambassador talent and identifying new, relevant, and authentic creators that represent our target demographic, we created digital-native content. Utilising trends such as "An Honest Day in the Life" and "Instagram vs Reality," we sought to reduce the stigma of loneliness often reinforced by social media. Through this campaign, we aimed to foster a more supportive and understanding environment for young people to address their feelings of loneliness.

Helping parents in business transform your social media, so you can spend less time and energy on your content but still make magical connections for your business. Content Strategy | Content Planning | Content Creation
Do you share pictures of your kids on social media? I'm going to confess right here and now, I am one of those people that will happily use gorgeous pictures of my boys to tell a story on social media. Just this week I’ve shared some precious memories of my eldest to share our experiences of being an autism family and my opinion that there needs to be better support for families like us. Sharing these stories allows me to show you the woman behind my business, so that, over time, you will get to know me, love me, and be desperate to join my online army of Wizards making magic happen online. I also know lots of you will be familiar with the daily battles a working mum with an autistic child faces, so my hope is that by sharing some of my troubles you might feel less alone. I DO encourage you to share your story, because I want to know more about the wonderful woman behind the business... BUT, you should never feel uncomfortable or exposed about sharing your personal life online. I know it's not possible for everyone, and sharing pictures of yourself and your children is an important, personal decision. And I don't want you to worry this will mean social media is not going to work for you - we just have to find an alternative that works for you! There are lots of ways to share this side of your story without having to overstep the boundaries you have rightly created when it comes to sharing online. Here are just a few ideas: 💫 When you're out and about, take a beautiful photo of the location you're in - you don't have to include people in the image. 💫 Take photos of your children from behind, so we cannot see their faces but can see the scenario they are in. 💫 Use objects that relate to the story you're trying to tell, perhaps the craft items you've been using with your children, or the special lunch you made. Let me know in the comments, do you share photos of your children and personal life on your social media?

🌟 Reflecting on the Power of Connection in Today's World 🌟 In a recent heartwarming yet poignant moment on social media, Sesame Street character, Elmo, reached out with a simple but powerful message: "Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?" The response was overwhelming, with countless individuals sharing their longing for human connection, amidst struggles with election anxiety, relationship troubles, and existential dread. This moment underscores a profound truth about our human experience – the vital importance of connection. In our fast-paced, often digitally-mediated world, it's easy to forget the healing power of a simple check-in, a moment of genuine interest in another's well-being. 🔍 Research consistently highlights the effects of human connection on mental health and overall happiness. As we navigate the complexities of today's world, it's crucial to remember that beneath the surface, many are grappling with loneliness and a deep yearning for connection. Let's take inspiration from Elmo's gesture and make a conscious effort to reach out, to listen, and to offer a word of support or encouragement. Whether it's a colleague, a friend, or a stranger, every interaction is an opportunity to strengthen our bonds and promote a sense of belonging. In doing so, we not only uplift others but also enrich our own lives, fostering a community where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, we can counteract the loneliness and isolation that too many face, one connection at a time. #HumanConnection #MentalHealth #Community #Empathy #SesameStreet #Elmo https://lnkd.in/gWXEUXuF

Reflecting on My Social Media Journey: Teenage Years vs. Adulthood 🔄📱 As a teenager, social media was a playground of self-discovery, friendships, and sharing life's every moment. It was a world of constant updates, fleeting trends, and the pursuit of popularity. Fast forward to adulthood, and my relationship with social media has evolved. 👧 Teenage Years: Exploring Identity Connection-Centric: It was about forming connections, building a digital identity, and seeking validation from peers. Impulsive Sharing: Every moment was shareable, and the fear of missing out (FOMO) fueled constant updates. Social Validation: Likes, comments, and followers were a metric of popularity and social standing. 🧑 Adulthood: Purposeful Engagement Selective Sharing: Quality over quantity. Content now reflects curated aspects of life, emphasizing meaningful experiences. Professional Networking: Social platforms serve as powerful tools for career growth, networking, and staying professionally relevant. Privacy Awareness: As an adult, there's a heightened awareness of privacy, with a focus on controlling digital footprints. ⚖️ Balancing Act: Mindful Consumption: Adulthood brings a more discerning eye. Social media is a tool for information, learning, and staying connected rather than a constant distraction. Digital Well-being: Prioritizing mental health, managing screen time, and setting boundaries for a healthier relationship with technology. In essence, social media has transitioned from a teenage playground to an adult's purposeful landscape. How has your social media journey transformed with time? Let's share perspectives! 💬🌐 #socialmediaevolution #digitalmaturity #ReflectAndConnect #evolution

🚨 Attention Parents: Navigating the World of Social Media and Our Kids 🚨 As parents and guardians, our number one priority is keeping our children safe and ensuring their healthy development. While social media has become a ubiquitous part of modern life, it's essential to consider the implications of creating social media profiles for our little ones. 🔒 Safety First: Remember, the Internet is a vast space that's not always safe. Sharing your child's personal moments may expose them to online risks. The eSafety Commissioner's report shows 1 in 4 young Australians experience unwanted contact online. 🧠 Mental Health Matters: Early social media exposure can seriously impact children's self-esteem and mental wellbeing, with studies indicating a correlation between social media use and increased mental health difficulties. 📚 Developmental Considerations: The formative years shape how children think and interact. Introducing social media too early can disrupt their natural learning and social skills development. Let's use social media wisely and safeguard our children's digital footprints. It's our role to guide them through the online world with caution and care, teaching them the value of privacy and the importance of real-world connections. #ChildSafety #DigitalParenting #MentalHealthAwareness #SafeSocialMedia https://lnkd.in/gv8rpYuT

Instagram live: THRIVING BEYOND TCK CHALLENGES, with Lena Lee🌍 Yesterday, I had the privilege of hosting an insightful Instagram Live session with Lena Lee, where we delved into the complexities of global mobility and its impact on children's and adults' mental health. We didn't shy away from discussing the challenges, including episodes of Lena's personal story as a daughter of a diplomat navigating depression, alcoholism, and even a suicidal attempt. While Lena's memoir tells her story in depth, our conversation aimed to shed light on the importance of destigmatizing mental health issues within our global communities. Because they are REAL in all possible social classes, races, ages, and countries. Even if sometimes, the "disguize/mask" we learn to put on from a very young age, may fool a few educators and even mental health providers. We emphasized the need for support in transitions, encouraging gratitude for the privileges we have (YES) while acknowledging the unique challenges they bring as much. 🙏 Lena talks about the priority she has given to #selfcare, and how much self-compassion she has developed to not let anything else come in her way of self-care. We spoke about how crucial it is to create compassionate spaces where teens and children can explore their identities and manage their difficulties in developing a sense of belonging without judgment. Something I shared is to shift from asking "What's wrong with you?" towards curiosity: "What has happened TO YOU?" Our conversation underscored the urgent need for better training and preparation for parents and educators navigating this journey alongside their children, but also curiosity and hope for those ATCK experiencing the challenge of having to build their lives on their own now. Lena shares very valuable literature that helped her in her journey and may be a good way for you to start. Thank you, Lena Lee, for your openness and wisdom. I hope that together we can continue championing mental health awareness and building resilient mobile communities. 🌟WATCH THE RECORDING HERE: https://lnkd.in/d_-9EP6b #GlobalMobility #MentalHealthMatters #CompassionateCommunities #ParentingJourney #Gratitude #vulnerability #challenges #psychologicalwellbeing #selfcare #tck

As we acknowledge World Down Syndrome Day, the recent CoorDown ad has ignited a powerful conversation about challenging assumptions and celebrating the capabilities of individuals with Down Syndrome. This thought-provoking campaign is a reminder that we must never underestimate what someone is capable of based on preconceived notions. The #AssumeThatICan campaign encourages viewers to challenge stereotypes and break free from limiting beliefs about what people with Down Syndrome can achieve. At the heart of this campaign is a powerful message about changing the narrative. By confronting stereotypes and showcasing the talents and abilities of individuals with Down Syndrome, CoorDown is leading the charge in creating a more inclusive society. The biggest takeaway for me is in challenging assumptions: The #AssumeThatICan video challenges us to rethink our assumptions and biases about what individuals with Down Syndrome are capable of. It reminds us that everyone deserves the opportunity to pursue their dreams and be recognized for their talents and contributions. I'll be taking time to reflect on how I can challenge my own assumptions, and I hope you will too. Together, we can build a more inclusive society where everyone feels empowered to reach their full potential. #WorldDownSyndromeDay #ChallengeAssumptions

Helping Fintech Founders to explode Sales in 90 days! 🚀 Marketing Strategist & Conversion Rate Optimisation Expert 🎯 Co-Founder of POW! ...Fintech-focused Marketing, PR + Brand Agency. LONDON 🚀📈
📢 Here's a great Ad Campaign. It's the new "It's OK not to feel Happy all the time" - McDonalds "The Meal" campaign. As part of the hashtag #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, McDonalds has launched a brand new campaign to help open up the conversation between parents & their children around the feelings & emotions they may be feeling. In a great move they've removed the smile on the Happy Meal boxes (for a limited time) and added emotion stickers inside to allow children to express how they feel. Awwww. And with 1 in 6 children between the ages of 5 - 16 suffering from anxiety and mental health (dude that's a sad state of affairs) While I'm not super keen on promoting junk food - it's certainly a great Ad Campaign to raise awareness about Mental Health It's a thumbs-up from me. But what do you think? #MentalHealth #Brand #Marketing
