"SPENCER COCKTAIL (1930'S), improved!! ( for 2024) Too sweet of a drink and couldn't really taste the Apricot; So I had to balance it out for this Generation's palate. Specs: (Served Up!) (Stirred!) 3/4 oz. Apricot Liquor ¼ Orange Juice 1 Dash Regans Orange Bitters No. 6 1.5 oz. Soft Gin Garnish: Flamed Orange coin zest only. *Beautiful Citrine Gem colored presentation. *Tasty 😏. *You want to use a less sweet Orange Bitters to cut through all that sweetness. *Using Dry Gin cuts off the Apricot flavor, so a Soft Gin is required instead, witch actually gives it a more Apricot Tree herbaceous flavor.

Hi, my company, Sunshine Consulting, hosts Team-Building Cocktail and Mixology Experiences. Virtual and In-Person.
The Secret to Cocktail Magic: It's All About Balance! ✨ Ever wonder how bartenders whip up those consistently delicious cocktails? It's all about the magic formula: spirit, citrus, and sweet in perfect harmony! Here's the key to unlocking your inner mixologist: The Golden Ratio: 2 oz Spirit: This is your base, the heart of the drink. Gin, vodka, tequila, rum - the possibilities are endless! 3/4 oz Sweet: Simple syrup, liqueurs, flavored syrups - add a touch of sweetness to round out the flavors. 3/4 oz Citrus: Freshly squeezed lime, lemon, grapefruit - a burst of citrus brightens the drink and cuts through the spirit. Pro Tip: Measure it Out! ⚖️ Using a jigger or bar spoon ensures consistent flavor every single time. No more "eyeballing" it and ending up with a cocktail that's too sweet or sour. The Shake-Up: Combine all your ingredients with ice in a shaker, give it a good shake (think rockstar, not sleepy arm swing), and strain into a fresh ice-filled glass. Voila! A perfectly balanced masterpiece ready to impress your taste buds (and maybe your friends). Now get mixing and share your creations! Introducing "The Swamp Creature": A Vodka Daisy to Beat the Heat This refreshing cocktail combines the zing of lime, the sweetness of maraschino liqueur, and the kick of vodka. Perfect for summer sipping! A daisy is a classic cocktail with a ratio of 3 parts spirit, 2 parts sugar, 2 parts citrus, and 1 part liqueur. Think of it like a sour, but the base spirit is split 3:1 with another liqueur, plus a splash of something sparkling. We have tweaked the ratio a bit to balance the acidity of the lime, but feel free to experiment and adjust to your taste! Ingredients: 1.5 oz vodka 0.5 oz maraschino liqueur (Luxardo) 0.75 oz fresh lime juice 0.3 oz rich simple syrup (2:1 strength) Splash of Ginger Beer (Fever-Tree) Instructions: Shake all ingredients well over ice. Double strain into a chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a lime twist or a mint sprig. Why we love it: The Daisy has been around since the 19th century, and its light green color reminds us of its bayou origins. It's both a classic choice and one that allows for endless creativity. #CheersToSummer #ShakenNotStirred #CocktailHour #DrinkingWithPatriots

My favorite combination in a Cocktail is the Golden Ratio (1:1:2). But specifically combining Honey, Lemon, and Spirit. 1 part honey, 1 part lemon juice, and 2 parts any spirit is going to be delicious. Here's a few bonafide classic cocktails using this combination: With Gin it's a Bee's Knee's With Bourbon it's a Gold Rush With Rum it's a Honeysuckle... Or is it? Alright full disclosure. Everyone was drunk when cocktails were invented. So, no one really knows the real history. But therefore, the best story wins. Here's the drunk story of the Honey Bee. In 1948, David Embry's 'The Fine Art of Mixing Drinks' explains the Honey Bee as an alternative to Gin in the Bee's Knee's (The GOAT of the Honey, Lemon, and Spirit combo). "The same drink with white Cuban Rum is a Honeysuckle, sometimes called an Airmail, and the same drink with Jamacian Rum is a Honey Bee." But ya see, since the mid 20th century, an Airmail has come to be considered a Honeysuckle but then topped with Sparkling wine. Also, a year later, @esquire released a 1949 edition of 'Esquire's Handbook for Hosts' referring to a Honey Bee as "1 part honey, 4 parts Bacardi, and 1 part lemon juice." I think Esquire takes the L on this one. Cocktail culture has taken on a life of its own and that was clearly a product placement for Bacardi. Therefore, a Honeybee is the simple combination of Honey, Lemon, and Dark Jamaican Rum. Full stop.

Infusion Inspiration: Tea & Novelty beverage ! Ah, the world of novelty beverages! As a tea taster, I must admit, it's always amusing to witness the latest fads in liquid concoctions. While some may consider tea as the elixir of tranquility, others seem determined to turn it into a circus act. Picture this, you walk into a trendy cafe, only to be bombarded with an array of novelty beverages that could easily double as science experiments. From matcha-infused, unicorn-inspired frappuccinos to bubble tea with more toppings than a pizza, it's enough to make even the most seasoned tea connoisseur raise an eyebrow. But fear not, loyal tea drinkers, for amidst the chaos of fruity infusions and exotic blends, there's a certain charm to the tried and true. A well-steeped Earl Grey, with its subtle notes of bergamot, doesn't need to perform acrobatics to win hearts. It simply whispers, "I've been here for centuries, darling." In the grand ballroom of beverages, where novelty tries to outdo tradition, let's raise our teacups in a toast. Here's to the audacious dance of flavors, the delicate pirouettes of tea leaves, and the daring leap into the unknown with every sip. May your tea always be steeped in irony and served with a side of whimsy, for in this world of eccentric elixirs, there's always room for a sarcastic salute to the steeped wonders of life. #TeaLovers #NoveltyDrinks #TeaTime #CreativeCocktails #DrinkInnovation #InfusionInspiration
