Reflecting over Q1 - one of the most rewarding wins was one of my smallest deals. After doing a deep dive of a discovery call - it became very clear that what she wanted and needed was a simple solution. She wasn't looking for anything fancy - just a "more sophisticated spreadsheet." I assured her that our product was much more than a sophisticated spreadsheet, but we wouldn't waste our time showing the power of every feature we offer - we'd just focus on how simple we make it to for her to do her most basic tasks. On our next call I did my typical "Recap & Roadmap" where I review quickly what we talked about in disco and set expectations for the demo. After presenting the 'R&R' I typically ask "How does that sound?" Her response? "That sounds great. Thank you so much. I've sat in on so many of these demos where the rep seems to go on auto pilot showing me a bunch of stuff that I do not care to see and I do not plan to use. Thanks for listening to me and just showing me what I need." By listening to her needs and showing her how we could address them, not only did she sign, but she signed three months earlier than she initially said she would. In terms of total ARR - it was not a big win at all. But in terms of serving a customer well and beating the competition? Might be my favorite win of the year.

Docusign - isn’t that just the eSignature company?? NO!! I’m so excited that today we’ve announced the launch of IAM, our Intelligent Agreement Management platform. We’re now bringing agreements to life. I remember a time as a former auditor, digging through shared folders, CRMs, ERPs. Hassling clients for the final version of contracts sitting somewhere in their emails. Oh my gosh, what a nightmare. I can’t imagine what the contracting process looked like for them, let alone leveraging the data from those contracts. Docusign is an intelligent agreement company.
