🌍✨ In 2022, we committed our company to the targets of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). At the end of 2023, we submitted our concrete targets for a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of 76% in Scope 1 & 2 and 25% of purchased goods and services in Scope 3, and now they have been validated. We are proud to be part of a movement involving 5,000 companies around the world working to achieve effective climate protection at company level. The SBTi targets are aimed at limiting global warming to 1.5°C. 🍃 We comprehensively analyzed the Corporate Carbon Footprint (CCF) of all our sites and have pledged to reduce greenhouse gas emissions according to our targets. 🍃 In our 2030 Sustainability Strategy, we therefore consolidated an extensive series of measures and initiatives which aim to reduce harmful emissions in accordance with the SBTi. 🍃 We are working on various projects, including switching to renewable energies, establishing more sustainable products and creating material loops. In future, we will also consider emissions when we purchase goods, for example prioritizing granules made from renewable raw materials. Our vision is clear: Innovation for a better future. #sustainability #climateprotection #SBTi #SÜDPACK

Those who are familiar with our channel will know: ensuring the safety and protection of our customers and their favorite products is our absolute priority. 💪 But we do not only care about consumer and product protection, we also take responsibility for our planet. 🌎 💚 The validation team at SBTi has confirmed that LANXESS' short-term emission targets (by 2030) for production and energy procurement (Scope 1 and 2) are aligned with the 1.5°C trajectory. Additionally, our long-term goals (by 2050) for the entire value chain (Scope 1, 2, and 3) also align with the 1.5°C reduction path, marking LANXESS as meeting the most ambitious target currently assessed by SBTi. The Science Based Targets initiative is a global effort aimed at helping companies set scientifically grounded goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, ultimately limiting global warming to well below 2°C above pre-industrial levels. It provides a framework and guidelines for companies to set targets that are consistent with the latest climate science, including the 1.5°C trajectory. Companies can independently verify and confirm their goals with SBTi. 🌱 This validation is a testament to our dedication to making a positive impact on the environment and society. Join us in our commitment to sustainability and mitigating climate change. 🤝 🍃

Glaston is proud to have set science-based targets, positioning us as leaders in the low-carbon transition. The international Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated Glaston’s carbon dioxide emissions reduction targets for its own operations (Scope 1 and 2) and for the value chain (Scope 3). SBTi encourages companies to implement climate measures in line with the Paris Agreement’s emissions reduction targets, i.e. to limit global warming to 1.5 °C. Glaston is one of the first glass processing technology companies in the world to have received validation from the SBTi for its greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets. The company is committed to reducing its absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 50.4% by FY2032 from a FY2022 base year. Glaston is also committed to reducing the Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions generated in its value chain by 58.1% per square meter of sold glass processing capacity within the same target period. I was pleased to speak alongside Saeed Al Remaithi, Ali Al Dhaheri and Laurent-Rene Wolffsheim at the World Future Energy Summit this week about actions we must take to limit global warming to 1.5°C. The reality is that industries are closely interconnected and no industry can decarbonise alone. Many of the challenges are shared. At EGA, we are working with others to decarbonise aluminium production. Our bold aspiration to become a global sustainability leader for the aluminium industry by 2030 and to reach net zero by 2050.

CARBON CREDITS IN SCOPE FOR SBTi | The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has released a statement that it will allow companies to use carbon credits to offset (part of) their Scope 3 supply chain emissions as they work towards their net-zero goals. We believe that reducing direct emissions should always be the highest priority for companies. It is an essential step towards minimizing our ecological footprint and promoting a sustainable planet for future generations. At the same time, we understand the challenges companies face in reducing their indirect emissions, particularly Scope 3. Carbon credits can play an indispensable role in this regard. In addition, providing finance for carbon projects in for instance the Global South, helps these countries and communities meet their climate goals. And as global warming is, well, global, it also indirectly helps business in the North. At Treevive, we are proud to support the development of a growing number of tropical forest carbon projects especially in regions where the impact of climate change is already acute. #Treevive #SBTi #ClimateAction #CarbonOffset #Scope3Emissions

🌍 The sharpening of F-gas rules has become a critical component of global efforts to combat climate changes. The EU F-gas regulations, which aim to phase down the use of fluorinated gases with high global warming potential, led us to more environmentally-friendly refrigerants in a wide range of industries. ❄️ One such refrigerant that has been gaining traction as a sustainable alternative to traditional F-gases is R-744, also known as carbon dioxide. R-744 has a much lower global warming potential compared to other refrigerants, making it a more environmentally-friendly option for a variety of applications, from commercial refrigeration to air conditioning. 💚 Nippon Gases, a leading provider of industrial gases, is proud to offer high-quality R-744 gas to businesses looking to comply with the latest F-gas regulations and reduce their carbon footprint. With a commitment to sustainability and innovation, Nippon Gases is dedicated to helping companies transition to more eco-friendly solutions and reduce their impact on the environment. ♻️ Choose Nippon Gases for all your industrial gas needs and join us in the fight against climate change. #NipponGases #R744 #Sustainability #Refrigerants #GreenCooling #EcoFriendly #EnvironmentalImpact

Do you know what are the warming stripes? They display the temperature anomalies of a geographical place. The colorful stripes on the cover of Greta Thunberg’s "The Climate Book" show how critical the global warming is. The activist demonstrates that it is still possible to remain optimistic and calls to impactful action. In this article, we’ll explore why it’s possible to be optimistic about the transformation to Net Zero in the manufacturing industry. #zenonsoftwareplatform #copadata #netzero #IIoT #GHG #SDG #ISO50001 #EMS
