Yesterday, our colleague Cyril Vančura participated in the DeepTech panel at TNW Conference. These are his key takeaways: 🔹 Positive Sentiment: The sentiment about the potential of European DeepTech startups was highly positive. There’s a strong belief in the innovative capabilities and future prospects of these ventures. 🔹 Leadership in R&D: Europe is globally leading in DeepTech R&D. However, we need ambitious startup entrepreneurs who can transform this R&D excellence into globally leading companies. 🔹 Global Mindset: For European startups to thrive, they need to think globally from day one. Much of the customer base for DeepTech innovation is outside of Europe, and adopting a global perspective is crucial for success. These insights underline the opportunities and challenges within the European DeepTech ecosystem. I am so grateful for the #KiwiTech team and the global entrepreneurs for sharing their best practices, best ideas, and being open minded enough to accept constructive feedback from both Edna A. & I. I firmly believe that everyone left with more ideas, inspiration, and better connections than before we all came. The businesses and entrepreneurs that came are but a small sub-sample of the #GreenEconomy & #OrangeEconomy that the near and long run economic future is lead by. Remember #EntrepreneurshipIsKey. Entrepreneurship is essential to economic growth and development, particularly in developing and emerging economies. When an entrepreneur launches an exciting new venture and puts in the hard work and effort to create a new business, it’s not only personally gratifying, but promising for the local community and economy. We know some of the factors that drive economic growth overall, but how does entrepreneurship specifically help facilitate these moving parts in the economy? Essentially, without entrepreneurship, the economic landscape would not be the same one we live in today. Simple pleasures we enjoy each morning, like having our pick between a few of our favorite local cafes and coffee shops, would not be possible without the efforts of entrepreneurs. The process by which entrepreneurs stimulate the economy is known as Entrepreneurship-led Economic Development (ELED). #Entrepreneurship drives economic growth by creating jobs, enhancing productivity, strengthening community, and spurring innovation.
