This is a common problem with food. (And here's how to fix it.) We see food as just calories. We forget about: - The nutritional value. - The fuel. - The taste. - The pleasure. The most important thing... The chemical count. Start thinking about chemicals instead of calories. Try to reduce your intake of toxins. Read ingredient lists. If you can't pronounce what's on it. Put it back on the shelf. Food is fuel for your body, mind and soul. Don't lose sight of that in the pursuit of calorie control. Welcome enjoyment. #nutrition #healthcoach #guthealth

Yes, the biggest take away is food. Is your best medicine and fat has been really villainized. People think that if you eat fat, you’ll be fat but if you don’t eat enough fat, you will very likely develop blood sugar problems, and other complications related to your blood sugar and hormones. Look for fats like avocados, nuts seed, and lots of healthy avocado oil to get those good fats that serve as a precursor for progesterone production. Having low progesterone can be tricky to improve start with your diet and work on the other diet lifestyle and behavioral factors that can make a difference as well. #lowprogesterone #progesteronesupplements #healthyhormones

Sugar isn’t going to kill you. That’s right. Sugar alone isn’t going to cause harm to your health. The key to a balanced diet isn’t in needing to ban sugar. Rather, its about enjoying it in your diet in a mindful way. Truthfully, if we ate excess sugar all of the time, we wouldn’t feel so great. But if we don’t include that sweet treat, sugar in our coffee, or sugar sprinkle over fruit when we desire it, we would be pretty miserable too. Understanding how sugar fits into your overall nourishment, along with macro and micro nutrient diversity, can create a well balanced diet without the need of eliminating it. Take it from a dietitian that has a cookie or piece of chocolate every single day 😉 #wellness #health #nutrition #dietitian #sugar #diet

Apart from emotional cravings, when you crave chocolate, sugar (sweet), and salt (salty), the cause might be related to nutrient deficiencies. → If you crave chocolate, you might be deficient in magnesium. → If you crave sugar, you might be deficient in chromium. This is a very common deficiency, usually due to poor diet (bad carbohydrates, processed foods). → If you crave salt, you might be deficient in zinc. Of course, you should seek the exact cause with the advice of a medical doctor. What do you usually crave? Let me know in the comments. #DrPsoma #PsomaMedicalWellness #WeightLoss #Cravings #Antiaging #Obesity

With temperatures hovering over 40 degrees in most parts of the country, dehydration and low energy are difficult to escape from. Nutrients to pay attention to during the summer heat are: ✔️Folate ✔️Vitamin C ✔️L-Tyrosine ✔️Magnesium ✔️Sodium Other nutrients like zinc, chloride, potassium can also be easily lost in sweat. As #digestion is usually slower during summer months, many people tend to skip meals and end up eating less vegetables 🥗and fruit 🍇 which can further accelerate nutrient deficiencies. Keep yourself hydrated, it will also help to ease digestion and manage #hunger. #nutrition #diet #summer #health #wellness #india

The importance of #grainfoods can’t be overstated. They provide much-needed nutrients to the average American diet, such as folate, fiber, iron and B vitamins. With so much happening today in the food and diet landscape, it’s easy to become confused about the role of grain foods in the diet and how removing them will inadvertently deprive the body of vital nutrients. That's why we advocate for grains equality using science-based evidence to prove that both whole and refined grain foods are part of a healthy and happy diet and lifestyle.
