The American Public Transportation Association and agency leaders across the country are doing amazing work reimaging how their #paratransit programs provide the best possible service for riders. Metro Magazine put a spotlight on these efforts, inspired by a panel discussion at the APTA TRANSform conference last fall. That discussion included Ron Brooks, our Senior Director of Policy and Stakeholder Engagement. The article, "The Paratransit Evolution is Here, But Where is it Headed?" is a must-read for anyone with a stake in #equitable and #accessible transit. Industry leaders, Chris Pangilinan, VP of Paratransit at Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), and Mike Roth, IndyGo Deputy Chief Transportation Officer, lay out recommendations to engage with riders, to look holistically at paratransit programs, and leverage new ways to improve service. And note, they are doing this without breaking their budgets or sacrificing equity and accessibility.
