Strategic B2B marketer| ex-Google | ClimateTech Buzz podcast host | Terra.do Fellow | I write about marketing's role in navigating the climate emergency
The Can Marketing Save the Planet? podcast consistently impresses with the quality of its guest speakers. The latest episode with Paul Foulkes-Arellano about toxic-free circularity was very timely as I continue to process the immense amount of information on the circularity landscape through the Climate Drift program - which, let me tell you, is not for the faint-hearted. 😅 Marco & Skander mean business, y'all! Doing circularity well means thinking deeply about partnerships up and down your supply chain, through industry alliances, with regulators, and yet to be imagined collaborations. But we often overlook all the internal partnerships it takes to transform how business needs to be done to succeed in the circular economy. That's where marketing comes in. As one of the hosts rightly points out, "..getting to grips with the product was always based on what are the features and benefits to the consumers. But now, there's a whole set of stories and information needs to be shared and told around R&D and the innovations." And only when we truly understand the process can we, as marketers, start to imagine new ways of telling our stories. In Paul's world, that means marketing & R&D need to be joined at the hip. If you're a marketer and want to start exploring how the future of the circular economy will affect your roles, have a listen! #climatechange #workonclimate #climatechangemarketer #climatesolutions #circulareconomy ----------- 👋🏾 I'm Shreya Krishnan, the Climate Change Marketer. 🌎 What is the definition of sustainability? And is sustainability "absolute"? Or does sustainability arise in comparison to non-sustainable options? And then there's circularity; what about that? We asked Joost Walterbos for the answers. Joost: “Sustainability is the holistic, or overarching concept. The umbrella term, where it's about behaving in a way that the world remains a livable place for others. And then it’s about others in different countries, and in different generations. That's the concept of sustainability. ♻️ And the circular economy is one of the solutions, or one of the possible routes, that contribute to a more sustainable existence. The circular economy is a path towards sustainability. So, if you do something circular, it leads to more sustainability.” Max, Clara & Joost discussed this (and much more) in the second episode of our podcast. 💚 💻 Read a written recapp (in 🇬🇧 & 🇳🇱); https://lnkd.in/egPbgXGx 👂🏼Or listen directly to the podcast (🇳🇱); https://lnkd.in/efgKvv_b And stay tuned for the next episode, where we'll do a deep-dive into the CSRD!
