The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Biodiversity Standard has arrived. Launched today, GRI 101: Biodiversity 2024 will support organizations in the disclosure of their impacts, throughout their operations and value chain. #GRI101 builds upon key global developments, such as the UN Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF), the Science Based Targets Network and the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), and is now freely available for download. The standard aims to help companies around the world meet growing demands from stakeholders in disclosing their most significant biodiversity-related impacts. It promotes the whole-of-government approach as a means of implementation to fulfill the vision and targets of the Global Biodiversity Framework. Moreover, the Convention provides a Plan of Action in CBD Decision 15/12 on Engagement with subnational governments, cities, and other local authorities to enhance implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework, now known as The #BiodiversityPlan, the only mechanism for multilevel governance within the three Rio Conventions and other MEAs. The #CitiesWithNature Action Platform serves as a pivotal tool in this endeavor, serving as a space where cities can report on, and track progress against, their commitments to contributing to the implementation of the Global Biodiversity Framework and national biodiversity strategies and action plans. With this in mind, this session will delve into the importance of the commitment platform as we head to COP16, where the focus will be on implementation and monitoring progress against targets. Responding to this focus, a report to CBD Parties is being prepared that will showcase the commitments made and actions taken to date by CitiesWithNature cities. To provide CitiesWithNature cities with the best opportunity to showcase their achievements, and showcase insights from CitiesWithNature champion cities, the 8 May webinar will demonstrate how cities can add their commitments and actions to the CitiesWithNature Action Platform.

Green PRAXIS Joins the Biodiversity Credit Alliance Forum to Industrialize Biodiversity Measurement - We are excited to announce that Green PRAXIS, pioneering the industrialization of biodiversity monitoring through #bioacoustics, has joined the Biodiversity Credit Alliance (BCA) Forum. As a BCA Forum member, Green PRAXIS will collaborate with the alliance's global network of experts to develop standardized methodologies for industrial-scale biodiversity and anthropization assessments.
