Our products will lower the carbon footprint whenever used in all segments, whether in the aerospace, wind, or marine segments. 45 years ago, when CHG-MERIDIAN was founded, we were one of the pioneers of the #circulareconomy. Today, the concept of life cycle thinking has already found its way into many industries, as circular business models make a significant contribution to a sustainable economy.   Back in 1979, our founder Jürgen Gelf recognized the need to support companies in regard to investments in IT equipment. Why? The IT systems were very expensive at the time but were regularly maintained and overhauled by the manufacturers. This meant they could be used for a long time and reused again and again.   This was not only the beginning of our business model based on the circular economy, but also the starting point for our contribution to a more sustainable economy.   More than four decades later, as a global #technology2use company, our business model is still based on this principle. At the same time, we are constantly expanding our commitment to sustainability. A recent example is the signing of the commitment letter of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in December 2023.   The SBTi is an association of the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), the United Nations Global Compact, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).   With the SBTi, we are committed to setting company-wide, near-term emissions reduction targets.   What does this mean for us? In addition to the measures we are already implementing to reduce our carbon footprint, we will set further specific targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions over the next 24 months. These targets meet the SBTi criteria and will be validated and monitored.   We can be really proud that a business model implemented 45 years ago is now seen as forward-looking for the transformation of our global economy.   It’s the pioneering spirit that makes good entrepreneurship! https://lnkd.in/e784D9C5
