Vast Renewables and GGS Energy have teamed up to launch Project Bravo in the Southwest U.S., aiming to produce synthetic fuels like green methanol and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) using advanced concentrated solar thermal power (CSP) technology. According to Craig Wood, CEO of Vast, this innovative CSP technology can drive down the cost of green fuel production, helping to decarbonize the aviation and shipping sectors. Targeting a CSP generation capacity of 550MWh, Project Bravo will co-locate a refinery to produce eSAF and green methanol, with plans to attract long-term contracts from global partners.
