Learn more and read the paper here: https://lnkd.in/dWc8FpsW In this 7th paper together, DTU - Technical University of Denmark and Sophion Bioscience have published on nanobodies (the part of an antibody that binds to specific peptides) that can bind and neutralize the key active components found in coral snake venom. Dr. Melisa Benard Valle, PhD & colleagues in professor Andreas Laustsen-Kiel’s lab used a variety of antibody/nanobody discovery techniques to find an oligoclonal mix to bind and neutralize a variety of venom peptide components. Via the Qube 384 nAChR channel recordings, Sophion’s Dr. Kim Boddum showed the venom alpha-neurotoxin neutralizing capacity of these nanobodies. Finally, professor Alejandro Alagon’s lab at Instituto de Biotecnología UNAM showed these nanobodies increased mouse survival rates in envenomation studies. A great step towards realistic cell culture models

This study details a protocol for inducing the differentiation of club cells into alveolar epithelial cells in a controlled in vitro environment, identifying specific molecular and cellular cues that guide this differentiation process. This knowledge is essential for comprehending lung development and repair mechanisms. This approach not only provides a model system for studying lung cell differentiation but also contributes to the understanding of cellular plasticity within the respiratory epithelium.   The findings from this study offer a valuable contribution to the field of respiratory biology, unraveling the mechanisms involved in the differentiation of club cells to alveolar epithelial cells. AZAFAROS B.V. is thrilled to make two important announcements:  📜8 posters selected for presentation at upcoming international conference on lysosomal storage disorders, the WORLDSymposium™. 📊 Results of the first-in-human Phase 1 study testing the safety in healthy volunteers of our lead asset, nizubaglustat, have been published in leading peer-reviewed journal, Molecular Genetics and Metabolism.   Four posters showing baseline data from our landmark natural history (PRONTO) study in patients with GM1 and GM2 gangliosidoses were among the eight selected for presentation at the WORLDSymposium™, to be held at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego from 📅 February 4-9.    Other posters include the design of our Phase 2 RAINBOW study investigating nizubaglustat in patients with GM2 gangliosidosis and Niemann-Pick disease type C (NPC).
