🔆Three Bursaries Awarded for Studies on Solar Thermal Technologies 🔆
The first Southern African Solar Thermal Training & Demonstration Initiative (SOLTRAIN)+ bursary call, launched in April 2024, saw an impressive response, with 11 research submissions from students across Southern Africa. Three students were selected by the SOLTRAIN+ steering committee and awarded bursaries, receiving up to €2,100 in financial support.
This bursary program, dedicated to advancing knowledge in renewable heating, cooling, and solar thermal technologies, will support a total of 20 Master’s and PhD students throughout the project’s implementation phase. Students from SOLTRAIN+ partner countries — Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, South Africa, and Zimbabwe 🌍— are invited to apply for the second bursary call, set to open by the end of 2024.
With this initiative, SOLTRAIN+ aims to build local capacity, promote solar thermal energy, and drive a sustainable, fossil-free future.
