Living bioelectronics for intimate tissue #interface 👈 An artificial implant inside a biological organism could use a buffer. Researchers at University of Chicago led by Jiuyun Shi and Bozhi Tian developed an implant that features an electronic circuit and a soft layer of hydrogel containing bacteria. Applied to a psoriasis mouse model, they could promote therapeutic effects while monitoring the progress wirelessly. Karim presented the paper “Kidney Stone Compositional Analysis and Identification using a Benchtop High-Resolution Multi-Modal X-ray Phase-Contrast micro-CT Imaging System” at the SPIE Medical Imaging 2024 conference. The paper, authored by a talented team of engineers at KA Imaging, proposes the use of three sets of images – transmission, phase, and scattering – for accurate and faster stone compositional analysis.
