👨🔧 As you may know, loss prevention is one of the key pillars of IVR. To contribute to the safety of inland navigation, the (Dutch) government requires a triennial steering gear inspection. Together with steering gear manufacturers a quality system for carrying out these inspections was developed. 📃 This includes a verification list in aid of carrying out the inspections, quality criteria for the steering gear inspectors, various procedures and an annual independent audit of the inspecting steering gear manufacturer by IVR. ⚓ The added value of this system is that the quality of the inspections is assured and that an independent organisation supervises. IVR checks the inspection reports that are sent in, stores them in a database and issues the Steering Gear Certificate. 🛥 With a total of 918 issued steering gear certificates last year, we can safely say that we, together with our dedicated team, manufacturers and inspectors contribute to the overall safety of inland navigation. 💡Stay tuned for more statistics, which will be published in our IVR Annual Report 2023 next week. API 526 When we started designing API series Safety Valves and it was necessary to consider a distance between the inlet flange and the outlet flange, we must refer to this standard. In this standard, you can find the distance from the center of the inlet to the outlet flange - the distance from the center of the outlet to the inlet flange in all 14 standard orifices for SPRING Series and PILOT Series Valves from Working Pressure Class 150 to 2500.
