Happy World Food Day! Food is a huge part of our lives, yet how often do we truly appreciate it? Yes, we eat every day to survive. But have you ever stopped to think about the incredible impact of food on our physical and emotional-being?🤔 It nourishes us, it brings us joy, connects us with others. I remember a time when I took food granted. Not until I had to spend part of the time I was supposed to use in resting after a long day to cook my food because I was hungry and there was no one to cook for me unlike secondary school where all I had to do was to go to the dinning hall to get my food Food is not just fuel. It's a source of inspiration, culture, and creativity. Each dish tells a story, whether it's a family recipe passed down through generations or a new fusion creation that pushes culinary boundaries. When we appreciate food, we honor the time and effort that goes into its preparation. But it's not just the taste and presentation that we should appreciate. Food is a powerful healer. It can boost our immune system, reduce stress, and even improve our mood. Ever had a bad day that was instantly brightened by a favorite meal? That's the power of food. So, let's redefine our relationship with food. Let's take the time to savor each bite, to be mindful of the ingredients we consume and to appreciate the hands that have prepared our meals. Let's celebrate the diversity of flavors and the cultural richness that food brings to our lives. Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy the meal 🥘 The preparation for Thanksgiving can be overwhelming. Today, I invite you to slow down, engage all five senses. Enjoy the colorful beauty of the food. Look your loved ones in the eyes. Take in the delicious aromas of what is cooking. Savor the variety of tastes. Try to incorporate all six tastes in your menu: sweet, salty, sour, bitter, astringent, and pungent. Put on some holiday music and involve family members in the process. Take a walk, listen to the rustling of remaining fall leaves. If you're beachside, listen to the ebb and flow of the tide. Finally, hug your loved ones. There is nothing nourishing than the human touch. Hold them for at least 30 seconds. Doing this will increase the level of serotonin secreted from the brain, which enhances immunity. Heal each other by digesting healthy food and conversation. While enjoying the meal, digest one another's thoughts and feelings with respect and reverence. And most importantly, give thanks for the divine energy that has brought you together today. #thanksgivingmeal #thanksgiving2023
