🌿 A correspondence mapping between ESRS standards and TNFD recommendations has been published to help companies understand the similarities, detailing the core disclosures and metrics recommended and required by both standards: 🔳 Concepts and definitions: Both require organizations to disclose nature-related impacts, risks, and opportunities, including dependencies. 🔳 Materiality approach: TNFD's recommendations enable disclosures based on double materiality, as required by ESRS. 🔳 LEAP approach: ESRS suggests using TNFD's LEAP assessment approach to identify and assess nature-related issues. 🔳 Reporting pillars: Both are structured around the four disclosure pillars of the FSB Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). 🔳 Recommended disclosures and metrics: All 14 disclosures recommended by TNFD are reflected in ESRS. More than 300 organizations from nearly 50 countries, including companies with US$4 trillion in market capitalization and more than 100 financial institutions with USD14 trillion in assets under management, have committed to start making nature-related disclosures based on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD). The recommendations, finalized last September, build on the approach and structure of the TCFD and have been designed to support the global policy goals outlined in the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, agreed to at the Convention on Biological Diversity #COP15, held in Montreal in December 2022. #naturalcapital #biodiversity #sustainabilityreporting #ESGreporting

Encouraging to see that over 100 financial institutions committing to integrate nature into decision-making, including some of the world’s largest asset owners and managers, representing US$14 trillion in Assets under Management (AUM) as well as banks, insurers and other leading market intermediaries. As a market-led, science-based and government-backed initiative, TNFD has now provided the tools to act on evolving nature-related issues.
