Today, as we celebrate Memorial Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the true essence of this day. → It's not just about barbecues and long weekends. → It's about remembering the brave souls who fought for our freedom. → It's about honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice. A few thoughts on how we can honor our heroes: → Take a moment to remember and honor the fallen soldiers. Their bravery and sacrifice have given us the freedom we enjoy today. → If you know a veteran or someone who has lost a loved one in service, share their stories. Keeping their memory alive is the least we can do. → Find ways to support veterans and their families. This could be through donations, volunteering, or simply lending a listening ear. Let’s not forget: → Freedom isn't free. It comes at a great cost. → Today is a day to remember those who paid that cost with their lives. → Let’s honor them by appreciating the freedoms we have and by striving to make this world a better place in their memory. P.S. - How are you honoring Memorial Day today? #memorialday

It's #NationalDonutDay! What's your favorite kind of donut? Let us know in the comments. Every year on the first Friday of June, Americans celebrate National Donut Day to honor the Salvation Army Lassies, the women who served doughnuts to soldiers during the First World War to lift their spirits. This tradition began in Chicago in 1938. We "donut" know what we would do without all of our wonderful clients! #GJMAccounting #accountingandaccountants #smallbusiness

As a veteran, I understand that Memorial Day can be a bit confusing to navigate. It’s more than just a long weekend; it’s a time to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. If you're wondering how to truly celebrate Memorial Day tomorrow, here are a few meaningful ways: 🇺🇸Visit a Memorial or Cemetery: Pay your respects by visiting a local memorial or cemetery. Placing flowers or flags on the graves of fallen soldiers is a powerful gesture of remembrance. 🇺🇸Attend a Memorial Day Ceremony: Many communities hold ceremonies or parades to honor the fallen. Participating in these events can be a heartfelt way to show your respect and gratitude. 🇺🇸Pause for a Moment of Silence: At 3 PM local time, join the National Moment of Remembrance. It’s a small act, but a collective pause can have a big impact. 🇺🇸Support Veterans: Consider donating to organizations that support veterans and their families. It’s a way to give back and ensure that their legacy lives on through continued support. 🇺🇸Share Stories and Memories: If you know a veteran or have family members who served, take the time to listen to their stories or share memories of those who are no longer with us. 🇺🇸Display the Flag: Fly the American flag at half-staff until noon, then raise it to full staff until sunset. It’s a traditional way to honor those who have fallen in the morning and salute living veterans in the afternoon. Remember, Memorial Day is about more than barbecues and beach trips (though I love those too!). It's a day to reflect, honor, and remember. #supportourveterans #veteranshelpingveterans #veteransupport #veteranlife #specialforces #supportourtroops

How does the True North Foundation choose the nonprofits we support? When our Founder first began his philanthropic work with veterans, many of the organizations we connected with came through mutual relationships and networking. As we grew into a foundation, we developed specific criteria to guide our support for the veteran community. Our focus is on four pillars: adaptive sports, education, employment, and mental and physical rehabilitation. For nonprofits that align with these pillars, we assess their connection to their local communities and their opportunities for us to actively participate in their missions. At the True North Foundation, we take pride in being part of their efforts and supporting the veterans they serve. We seek to partner with nonprofits that truly become part of our foundation's family. The amazing nonprofits that we support today are: Dog Tag - empowers transitioning veterans with service-connected disabilities, military spouses, and caregivers to find renewed purpose and create community outside the military through an innovative business and entrepreneurship-focused fellowship program. Merging Vets and Players - empowers military, veterans, and professional athletes to thrive when the uniform comes off, through fitness, health, and wellness programs. Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation – honoring this country’s men and women in uniform by educating their children. The MCSF is the nation’s oldest and largest provider of need-based scholarships to military children. Stay In Step Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Recovery Center – a brain and spinal cord recovery center designed to provide state-of-the-art recovery treatment to SCI patients in Tampa and the surrounding community area #nonprofit #veteran #support #military #foundation #donate #philanthropy #ourstory #leadingbydoing #impsct #family
