It was a frightful, but very insightful afternoon at PLASA's Forum focused on driving sustainability and carbon reduction in the events and entertainment industries. At TAZAAR we are delighted to witness sustainability and net zero high on the industry's agenda. Plasa is leading in unifying industry players to influence and inspire a regenerative entertainment industry. It was a pleasure listening to and meeting industry sustainability leaders: Mark Stevenson on global trends and innovation, how the landscape of society is going to change due to climate change, and business necessity to reduce carbon. Phoebe Currie on SLX's sustainability strategy and advice on encouraging businesses to look at their carbon baseline before setting out a net zero strategy. Tom Harper on Unusual Rigging circular economy initiatives and business operations to reuse and re-service rigging equipment for stage shows, ultimately cutting carbon and costs of staging live shows. Mark Vignaux from the Carbon Disclosure Project on how their platform centralises and makes ESG reporting seamless across several sustainability certifications and Eman Martin-Vignerte from Bosch and @cbi on business necessity to work towards net zero to survive in the next 5 years and the range of circular economy and carbon reduction projects Bosch have trialled and implemented in the past few years. In the UK, Net Zero is being driven by EU regulations and UK businesses cannot afford to wait until these regulations come to us, manufacturers selling into and via the EU need to act now. TAZAAR is enabling UK and European audio and lighting manufacturers to comply with upcoming EU Digital Product Passport regulations and Scope 3 with out digital service logbooks. Our key value focuses on making sure there is a commercial benefit to manufacturers and their customers, working closely with our early adopters in the audio industry, and automating EU Digital Product Passport compliance ahead of 2027. A superb opening event. The scene is set. Working together we "WILL" change hearts, minds and gently inspire others to consider the needs of future generations.
