I am ecstatic to share that I will be starting my Master of Public Health (MPH) at Brown University in January. As a Nurse Practitioner, my true passion for public health started during my time at InterCommunity FQHC School Based Health Center. I was proud to provide comprehensive care and advocacy for many vulnerable populations including refugees, children and families experiencing homelessness and children in the foster care system. I enjoyed creating new strategies to help overcome barriers to care and improve healthcare access.
My desire to improve pubic health continued into my work at TBD Health, an innovative sexual health startup. TBD Health has encouraged me to continue to grow, providing incredible mentorship and support. I have had the privilege of developing policies, best practices and educational trainings to help improve comprehensive and judgement-free sexual healthcare, including STI screening/treatment and HIV prevention.
With this added degree and education, I look forward to continuing to improve community health at a larger scale. I am confident that my training at the Brown University School of Public Health will allow me to take on the most pressing public health challenges in my community.
