Youth AIDS is a topic that always leaves my heart weighing a little heavier each time knowing that this relentless virus impacts many young lives. It's a stark reality that, according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 53 cases of HIV in children younger than 13 were diagnosed in the US in 2021 alone. Reflecting on this, I'm reminded of the vulnerability of our youth, particularly when it comes to perinatal transmission of HIV—where the virus can pass from a parent to their child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding. But amidst the challenges, there's hope. Advances in HIV medicines and preventive strategies have significantly lowered the rate of perinatal transmission to 1% or less in our country. This progress is a testament to the power of education, awareness, and access to healthcare. As a parent myself, I understand the importance of ensuring our young ones have the knowledge and resources they need to protect themselves. That's why at HealthyMD, we're dedicated to providing comprehensive sexual health education and accessible healthcare services for people of all ages. If you or someone you know is struggling with HIV treatment, please know that you're not alone. HealthyMD is here to offer support and guidance every step of the way. From confidential telehealth consultations to personalized treatment plans, we're committed to walking alongside you on your journey to better health. If you or someone you know is living with HIV/AIDS, treatment is available. Learn more at HealthyMD.com #HealthyMD #BuildingAHealthierCommunity

Great news! The Local Government Association is advocating for a 10 Year Sexual Health strategy to be released. This strategic approach aims to enhance overall sexual health services and outcomes. Cllr David Fothergill, Chairman of the LGA’s Community Wellbeing Board, said: “This is why we are calling for a new 10-year strategy to tackle infection rates, and ensure that sexual health services are properly funded and resourced in the long-term.” Ensuring proper funding for Sexual Health Services relies heavily on the presence of accurate and relevant data. This crucial information helps decision-makers understand the specific needs of communities, allocate resources effectively, and measure the impact of services provided. By emphasizing data collection and analysis, we can bridge gaps in healthcare access, tailor interventions to diverse populations, and prioritise initiatives that address pressing sexual health issues. Here at Signumology we celebrate 6 years of our I-Safe Sexual Health platform! We are proud to have supported 42,073 registered patients in accessing Sexual Health Screening services with a staggering 186,000 screening assessments being completed. As per research, due to the lack of sexual literacy and elementary education among people, there is little to no sexual hygiene, and low sexual awareness among them, Due to mental pressure and societal obligations, one cannot go out and get access to their sexual health and stability, and it is due to the precursor of thoughts and impressions which one had within their heads, . but at some point in time, people knock their heads to get the answers, and when literacy is undiscovered or untouched, people try and take self-help practices or ask peers and family without consultation and guidance, which may or may not be good for their sexual health resulting in developing STIs, HIV, Peyronie, and many other infectious diseases. Edusex India is bringing change, in how people think about sexual wellness and hygiene, by creating awareness drives, campaigns, and online consultation. Normalising STIs gets us a step closer to breaking down stigma, which makes it easier to reach out and get tested and treated. Young people face bigger challenges, and it shows - STI infections among 15-24 year olds are particularly high. Fewer school nurses, less funding for sexual health clinics, and social media's capacity to spread misinformation are just a few aspects of the bigger picture. Investing in quality sexual and reproductive health education and making safe spaces for young people to go and shamelessly ask any and all questions is a necessary step to curbing this trend. We need the intersection of multiple sectors - education, health systems, and community members to approach this issue. But for now, it starts with a conversation. Talk to the young people in your life. Check in.
