The Importance of Training and Culture in Hospitality Restaurant owners often invest heavily in design, equipment, and menu development but neglect training and culture. 🛑 These crucial elements often end up being secondary. 🗣️ "Just teach the staff the menu and 'steps of service.'" ✅ Truth: mediocre training yields mediocre results. 📈 Why it matters: Restaurants without an amazing, consistent experience have ~25% guest retention. Restaurants with it have over 70% guest retention. 💡 What defines an amazing, consistent guest experience? "Steps of service" is just service. Service is a business transaction. It’s the minimum expected. Hospitality is a genuine personal experience! 🚀 To really impress guests, we need genuine hospitality! All staff (reception, runners, waiters, bartenders, managers, kitchen) must support genuine hospitality for a new concept to truly succeed.
