At this point Pat Gelsinger will need to do something drastic like shift everything out to #RISCV to leapfrog the competition instead of playing catchup the foundry side of things are still strong and has access to the most advanced processes and the talent in intel IF they are willing to can shift towards RISCV and make a transition to the new IA and try for a risky but necessary shift to the future the ditch X86 and leave AMD with the legacy https://lnkd.in/ghfm9t-y

Intel Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Defective 13th and 14th Gen Processors Intel is battling a class action lawsuit, with plaintiffs claiming the company knowingly marketed faulty 13th and 14th Gen Core processors. Users have reported crashes, screen blackouts, and restarts since late 2022, with Intel only acknowledging a microcode issue in July 2024. Despite patch efforts, some issues remain unresolved, prompting demands for potential hardware replacements. The case arrives amid Intel’s struggles to compete with Nvidia and AMD in AI and semiconductor markets. This lawsuit could have significant financial and reputational impacts on Intel as competition tightens. #Intel #TechNews #Lawsuit #CPUs #Semiconductors #AI

🔧 Intel Faces Significant Stability Issues with 13900K and 14900K CPUs In a detailed video analysis, concerns have been raised about the performance stability of Intel's 13900K and 14900K processors, especially in gaming environments. The issues, which include high crash rates and other system instabilities, might not just be rooted in typical overclocking problems but could indicate deeper hardware flaws. 🎮 Gaming Impact: Frequent crashes and system instabilities are plaguing gamers using Intel’s latest CPUs. These issues extend beyond typical overclocking problems, suggesting possible hardware flaws. 📊 Data Analysis: A thorough investigation into gaming crash reports has identified a high incidence of errors specifically linked to Intel’s 13900K and 14900K models. This contrasts with AMD CPUs, which show significantly fewer issues under similar conditions. 💻 Technical Challenges: The problems may not be easily fixable with software updates, indicating deeper hardware-level issues. This has affected not only personal gaming rigs but also game servers, leading to poor multiplayer experiences. 🔄 Industry Response: Due to recurring stability problems, some data centers and gaming providers are shifting towards AMD systems. These alternatives are proving to be more stable and reliable, reducing support costs and improving operational efficiency. 🔍 Future Outlook: With ongoing concerns about Intel’s CPU stability, the trend is leaning towards more dependable AMD offerings. This shift is influenced by the need for reliable hardware in both consumer and enterprise environments. #Gaming #DataCenter #AMD #Ryzen #Intel

Intel had a WILD day | Linus Tech Tips Intel has faced significant challenges in recent years, including performance degradation in their 13th and 14th gen processors, mass layoffs, and underwhelming product launches. Intel's CEO has stepped down, signaling a potential shift in the company's strategy and direction. Intel Corporation has announced the launch of their new Arc Battle Mage GPUs, aiming to compete with NVIDIA and AMD in the budget gaming market. The new GPUs offer improved performance and efficiency compared to previous generations, with a focus on ray tracing and AI acceleration. Intel is positioning their new GPUs as a more affordable option for gamers, with pricing that undercuts competitors like NVIDIA. Intel has made significant strides in improving their software and driver support for Arc GPUs, addressing previous issues and enhancing performance. While the new Arc GPUs show promise, it's important to wait for independent reviews to assess their real-world performance and value. What are your thoughts about this? https://lnkd.in/gdMjghkX

Excerpts: “… In other words, Qualcomm wouldn't be able to produce Intel-designed x86-64 chips unless AMD gave the green light. It's also likely one of the reasons why no one bought AMD when it was dire straits; whoever took over it would have to deal with Intel…”
Sorry, there’s no way Qualcomm is buying Intel

In some surprising tech M&A news, Qualcomm has approached Intel Corporation regarding a possible takeover (https://lnkd.in/d2-2Vc6N). I don't see this ever being approved by anti-trust regulators, however it paints a clear picture that Intel has been struggling a lot lately. The x86 chips have been loosing a lot of ground against ARM chips in all sorts of key features. I don't see x86 going away any time soon, but I also don't see them being the leaders in this space in the near future. #hardware #chips #arm #x86
