I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone on this platform who has liked, shared, or commented on our posts– it has genuinely made a huge difference in our growth this year. As the founder of this organization, I've witnessed firsthand the staggering disparity between food excess and scarcity in our country. Nearly 40% of our food supply goes to waste, while simultaneously, 44 million Americans face the challenge of food insecurity. At Sharing Excess, we're dedicated to solving this paradox by rescuing surplus food and delivering it to communities in need. Our mission is not just about providing food; it's about revolutionizing food sharing to overcome the logistical barriers that often hinder food rescue and redistribution. I know you’re probably being bombarded with Giving Tuesday requests from many amazing organizations– but we need your support. There is still time to get involved with our Acheson Christmas Hamper Drive. Until the big collection day on December 6th at Western Star Trucks (North) Ltd we will be conveying more about the need for donations this year. Today we are sharing information about the Parkland Food Bank Society as we are asking businesses to collect non-perishable food items for this year's Christmas Hamper program. Did you know that 40% of individuals served are children and that 33% are single parents? The Parkland Food Bank provides food for 2400 individuals a month! Did you also know that for the first time, there has been a significant increase in food bank clients who reported employment as their main source of income? Every donation, no matter the amount can make an impact.
