This month our Patient Journey story revisits Michael Diselet, one of our patients who participated in our virtual patient's day event. Michael is a United States Air Force Veteran and motorcycle enthusiast. After suffering from an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) Michael’s options were to undergo an open repair or a minimally invasive EVAR procedure using one of our TREO products. Since being successfully treated with our TREO product, Michael is now back on his bike and living normally again stating, “I really don't have any conscious feeling that it's even there.” Watch Michael's story below or click the link to view all the incredible stories so far: https://loom.ly/IcUbk4s

Great presentation on Blast Injuries and TBI by Dr/COL Vik Bebarta and BG Kathleen Flarity from the CU Center for COMBAT Research and Marcus Institute for Brain Health! Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBIs) are a significant issue for active duty military personnel and veterans, often stemming from combat, training accidents, and exposure to explosive devices. TBIs can lead to chronic cognitive, emotional, and physical impairments, affecting memory, mood, and overall functionality that significantly impacts the quality of life for those affected. Advancing TBI research is crucial for developing effective prevention, diagnostic, and treatment strategies. Innovations in protective equipment, diagnostic technologies, and rehabilitation techniques can significantly improve outcomes. Advocating for initiatives that fund TBI research, enhance healthcare services, and implement comprehensive screening and awareness programs is vital to ensure early intervention and continuous support for our active duty military personnel and veterans. Thanks to Raiza Deyto a Combat Scholar with the Center, for the invitation to the event!
