Our reprogrammed EVP – embracing change    Our Employer Value Proposition (EVP) reflects the key reasons why our employees are proud and motivated to work at ALDI SÜD IT. It’s our promise to both existing and future employees; we shape it through our behaviour and attitudes. And because our organisation is constantly evolving, it's essential that we regularly examine this promise to make sure it still reflects our current reality.      Figuring this out was one of our initiatives in the last few months. The answer: yes, our EVP is just as fitting today as it was in the past. It just needed to be fine-tuned in some aspects. So important for any business

This is a great take - it's critical that senior management "get out of the boardrooms" and actively involve themselves in day-to-day operations so they can identify first hand & subsequently implement changes that will improve work qualities for their wider workforce. In recruitment, there is a common theme from candidates that C-Suite management become detached from the daily workings/issues that lower level employees face, this is often reflected in repetitive exit interviews and staff retention figures. As embarrassing as it is, I have to share the recognition for the team! Store #671 lead the way in driving Safety Awareness in the District, so I owed them a day- dressed as a Turkey! Associates and Customers alike took photos and many jokes were made, mostly at my expense. Culture isn’t driven by KPI’s, it’s driven by people. If the culture is right, the KPIs will follow. Anyone can complete a task, but if there isn’t intent or meaning- it’s just another metric. The team was fully aware of the why behind this stunt- that’s a testament to the leadership there. Regardless of being in corpororate, or in store, or support: if you don’t lead by example or keep your word, you will lose your audience; team. We are in the people business, we just happen to sell groceries. #WCBC #WeAreSEGers #WinnDixie

Always good to hear 👂 what’s going on externally and in the broader retail environment, always a few little helpful nuggets. 💡Great to have some of the team attend Retail Week Live so we could divide and conquer the sessions and share learning. A team that goes together, grows together. 🌱 So important when talking to candidates to have an understanding of the wider industry and a good opportunity to be able to represent Specsavers as an employer. Almost every session on people, or those who included the people element their thinking 🧠 talked about understanding the individual and personalising their experience of work. Wilko? Gone ❌ Woolworths? Gone ❌ Toys R Us? Gone ❌ Today we tragically add another iconic High Street brand to the "Administration" list - The Body Shop. I for one am going to miss how aesthetically pleasing every one of their stores were. They had the most perfectly stacked shelves I've seen! Anyway, I digress. This news has resurrected the hot topic of the "Dying High Street". As increasingly more shopping is done online, there is noticeably less footfall on our High Streets, leading to these businesses with a smaller online presence falling behind. So this is my question to my network - is this increase in online shopping seeing construction companies working on less Retail projects, and more Logistics/Distribution projects?

Absolutely 100% agree with this on so many levels. - Understand the impact of decisions on the Shop floor. -Understanding the Customer journey, what are they thinking seeing and feeling in the stores on a daily basis - Connecting with employees, listening, listening to what's going well, listening to concerns and listening to ideas All of this can only help the business to build, with a Customer, and shop floor employee focus.
