A big thank you to @Tánaiste Micheál Martin who joined our Chief Operating Officer Geoff Byrne CDir today to help turn the sod on the site of our construction of a Tesco Superstore at Fermoy, Co Cork.  Tesco Fermoy will open in summer 2025 and will employ in the region of 100 colleagues. The store will include car parking and cycle parking facilities, F&F clothing, and a dedicated Tesco Mobile phone shop; as well as the provision of Click+Collect services for customers and a Grocery Home Shopping hub to serve the wider catchment of North Cork. An Tánaiste, Micheál Martin, TD, said, “I’m delighted to see Tesco Ireland begin work on this new store in Fermoy. The retailer is a great employer across Cork County, and a big supporter of local Cork suppliers like Keohane’s Seafood, Silver Pail, and Irish Yoghurts. I’m sure this new store will have a very positive impact on the local economy of this vibrant Cork town.”  Geoff Byrne CDir, Chief Operating Officer, Tesco Ireland said, “We’re finally on site in Fermoy and we couldn’t be happier to turn this sod today. Once completed, this new store will bring all the positive benefits that Tesco brings to a town; including local jobs, community supports, opportunities for local suppliers and a new shopping experience for colleagues and customers.”
