The main component of solar panels is crystalline silicon, which is derived from silica, a compound found in sand and quartz. The extraction and processing of silica do have some environmental consequences, such as land disruption, water consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions. Nevertheless, these impacts are relatively small when compared to the pollution generated by fossil fuels.

I mean there are toxins in some solar panels such as cadmium and lead, along with precious metals, but if recycled, we can keep those materials out of the landfill. The problem is with the regulations, or lack thereof, that allow the mindless disposal of solar panels into landfills.

What a great vision for solar - to be confidently free of any risks of toxicity is exactly where we need to be. If the solar industry can feel 100% confident that even when Mother Nature strikes that toxicity can be in the rear view? #Priceless Because if solar stays intact and turning sun into green energy, panels are safe. But panels in mass are now reaching the end of their useful life and climate is giving us a serious reality check as more big projects face massive damage from storms (like the hail damaged project at the link below). Once damaged or delaminated even a little bit, or if damaged panels end up in landfills (and we know this is true for a lot of them), then lead and cadmium are big potential health threats. Solar Panels are not the problem. That's just to throw you off. the problem is the solar inverters, they produce harmonics that is dirty power that hurts all of your equipment and produces EMF that is hazardous to our health include your child at school. Just think when solar is on 9 am to 3 pm, when is your child in class?? Don't let them baffle you with BS

Solar modules are mostly a Glass front with Aluminum Frame, some EVA layers, the silicon cells (non-toxic and can be reused) and some soldering and electrical wiring.
