I am incredibly thankful and appreciative of M&T Bank and the continuous support and engagement during my internship experience from my managers, mentors, and peers. What's the best career advice I have received and continue to pass on? Stay focused on the importance and power of clear, transparent, and authentic communication. Operate in a constant state of mindfulness, social awareness, and emotional intelligence. Consistently reflect on every action and interaction throughout the day to not only celebrate your accomplishments and glows but to ask yourself: 🟢"Where and how could I have improved professionally, socially, personally, academically, or spiritually today? 🟢"Did I make a mistake? How will I acknowledge and mend that mistake?" 🟢"Do I owe anybody an apology? Or do I owe myself an apology?" 🟢"How do my words and actions affect my peers around me? Do my actions and interactions actively contribute towards sustaining an inclusive environment that supports the activation of all our collective power?" 🟢"Have I not only told but shown my appreciation for others? Did I intentionally engage in active listening and value the time, emotions, thoughts, and presence they shared with me?" My professional journey has been everything besides traditional or linear. My intentional investment and growth in authentic communication, active listening, and mindfulness have remained constant and carried me through all my life journeys. With no clear sign of where my path leads me, I'm confident whatever challenges lay ahead and people I learn from will contribute immensely to my growth in all aspects of life. #MTBinternship #MTBcareers #nationalinternday #mindfulness #socialawareness #communication #emotionalintelligence #growthmindset

Computer Information Systems Major | Seeking Internships | Student at the University of Texas at Dallas
Earlier today, I attended the Gen-Z Exchange Student Panel & Networking event with the CIS Tech Leadership Council and it was a great opportunity to delve into the world of technology leadership, and I was delighted to be a part of it. As technology professionals, continuous learning and leadership development are important for staying ahead in our growing field. The CIS Tech Leadership Event at UTD offered a Q/A with seniors and alumni giving insight on internships, networking opportunities, career fairs, classes, and much more that can significantly impact your career journey. Attending events like this is not just about expanding your knowledge, but also about the investment in your professional growth. In today's competitive job market, the ability to adapt, lead, and innovate is key to success. Whether you're a student, or a recent graduate in the technology field, I believe that events like this will provide you with knowledgeable takeaways to propel your career forward.

Thanks to Owens Corning's CEO Brian Chambers and his team for their continued investment in our communities and for inviting me to participate in our future leader's career journey as a keynote speaker on Friday. Their collaboration with the Toledo Public Schools Foundation through the Dream Bigger series creates opportunities for students to start their career journey early. During the program, Owens Corning employees help to prepare high school students for college and the next phase of their lives. The Dream Bigger series provides tools for life and career skills, such as resume building and interview preparation, and offers high school internships to students through this program. Individuals' journey starts when they decide on a career(s) and take the first step in navigating the process. It begins before most people even realize it and continues throughout life. A career journey is a dynamic process with many paths, and if adequately navigated, it assists you in identifying your purpose that aligns with your passion. Studies show that programs such as Dream Bigger assist in setting students' minds and efforts on career goals at an early age. This concept helps them achieve their goals sooner and pivot to other essential things in life, such as secondary careers, that they may discover later.

I joined forces with Angela C. Thomas & Dr. Kathleen Baxter to speak about recruiting & retention challenges in state government to a full house at the NASC Annual Conference (NASACT) in Lexington this morning. Here's a few key takeaways: 1. Simplify job application processes 2. Provoke careers with internships to identify talent 3. Hire for soft skills, teach additional skills on the job 4. Update job descriptions to match employee skills #TeamInfor #recruiting #retention #retentionstrategy #workforcetrends #govtjobs #govtech

I sat on a panel with some esteemed colleagues on #NationalInternDay, sharing our professional paths & answering questions from the minds of tomorrow. To those who see this: 👉🏿 If you’re an intern - What is 1 burning question you have about life in the workforce? 👉🏿 If you’re a seasoned professional - What is 1 piece of advice you wish someone had given you as you were starting out?
On #NationalInternDay, we hosted a series of events in King of Prussia to celebrate our interns! Through keynote presentations, networking and a panel session, leaders from across the company shared insights on how to build connections, grow professionally, chart your own career path and much more. We appreciate the hard work of our interns. They are the future of the industry, and they’re ready to make the world a better place.

Intern programs should create positive candidate experience - yes, interns are potential candidates for future regular full-time roles. So many potential positives... - a great option for companies to develop a pipeline for early career talent. - a unique chance for leaders to learn and grow with these Interns. - opportunity for an Intern to gain experience, using many of their learned skills. - and so many more Several weeks ago, an individual in our Electronic Arts Intern program (https://lnkd.in/gb7tz3Yk) asked for 30 minutes of my time. At first, his partial smile, a black buttoned-up EA logo shirt, and his terrific posture conveyed excitement and a touch of nervous, perhaps at meeting someone with 20+ years industry experience. As we talked, and grew more comfortable, he flashed a smile and personality that would light up a room. He shared learning and insights that allowed me to think bigger. He shared an enthusiasm for the company and his role, reminding me many of the great things we all could be sharing about why we do what we do. Best 30 minutes I've spent in quite a while. Below is a similar Intern story. I love this so much... #candidateexperience #intern #internprogram #professionalgrowth #professionaldevelopment
🎉 Combining hard work, fun, and the making of history - that's how we roll at HGA6! 🚀 Today, the safety team came together for a memorable off-site team bonding experience that marked a significant milestone – bidding adieu to our very first WHS intern in the R2L org, Sandranna Washington. 🌟 📊 Over the past three months, Shay's dedication has been nothing short of inspiring. I had the extraordinary opportunity to participate in the GlobalMindED conference this week GlobalMindED is a dynamic and inclusive community focused on taking practical steps to develop a diverse talent pipeline for minority learners and job seekers. This organization unites influential figures from education, business, government, and non-profits, all with a shared commitment to expanding access and opportunities for first-generation college students, low-income or underrepresented, in educational and career settings. What made this annual event so unique? ▫ 73% of our speakers come from diverse backgrounds. ▫ Most attendees are diverse leaders and allies who advocate for inclusive leadership. ▫ Our audiences come from all backgrounds and bring an equity lens. ▫ Around 20% of our attendees are first-generation and diverse students. ▫ GlobalMindED ensures student representation by featuring them on the majority of panels. ▫ The Industry Marketplace/Career Exploration provides businesses with opportunities to connect with diverse talent for apprenticeships, internships, and job placements. ▫ The conference also hosts an Inclusive Leader Awards dinner, which celebrates DEI luminaries and serves as a platform for recognizing role models in the industry.
