Climate change is scary, but there's a bright side! Amazing people around the world – scientists, inventors, even regular folks – are coming up with incredible solutions to fight this crisis and build a future that's good for the planet. We're talking solar panels, wind turbines, even ways to capture carbon emissions before they mess with the atmosphere. Plus, there are smarter ways to grow food and build houses that don't guzzle energy. The key is to get everyone on board – leaders, businesses, all of us! We need to invest in these ideas and work together to make them the new normal. Imagine a world powered by clean energy, where we grow food that's good for us and the Earth, and our buildings are practically living things! Let's celebrate these awesome climate solutions and push to get them everywhere. Together, we can turn this fight around and create a future that's bright and sustainable, for us and generations to come! #ClimateSolutions #RenewableEnergy #SustainableDevelopment #Innovation #CleanTech https://lnkd.in/ei5EmRXM

The missing manual for scaling climate tech. There is a gap between the need for scaling climate tech and the available frameworks to unlock a global at-scale technology transformation. The Climate Brick established a framework to de-mystify climate tech scaling for 7 different types of businesses. I'm sharing the manual for Giga Scaling and Green Deployment below. Giga Scaling: Building CAPEX-intensive, large-scale plants for established green production methods, such as green steel, batteries, and green fuels. Green deployment: Operating, deploying, or owning green assets, such as solar, wind, and battery parks. Please feel free to tag anyone that might benefit from these frameworks. ☘

Veteran Aviation Journalist focussing on creating aviation/aerospace education ecosysystems connecting kids and parents to aviation and aerospace career opportunities
A very thought-provoking piece on getting to #netzero targeting unfettered growth in industry. More efficiency and revenues results in more emissions. It blasts the myths on which we are basing our emissions performance in #aviation. Should we, instead, be thinking about #degrowth -- or limiting growth for the sake of the planet. The myths include: We are in the midst of an energy transition. Never have we replaced an energy resource (well maybe whale oil or wood), we've just added on more and the transition resulted in increasing energy consumption Energy efficiency will solve #climatechange -- The creation of more efficient aircraft engines might result in cheaper flights, potentially leading to an increase in #airtravel. Certainly that has been the experience of the last 30 years. Innovation will save us -- the tech overpromises and under delivers and some is just plain #magicalthinking. "If we really want to hit net zero, we will have to challenge our assumptions about economic success," writes Christopher Marquis in Harvard Business Review. "This is not a call for stagnation but a plea for responsible, sustainable growth that considers the well-being of our planet and future generations." #WallStreet, where #marketforces rule at the expense of anything else, won't like this. https://lnkd.in/eVHvfTch

SF Climate Week Event w/ Anglo American, Activate - great learnings on investments fueling deep tech and climate tech. One particular aspect of climate tech is urgency. Because the world needs these innovations now and not later. The name of the game becomes not only to have the monetary fuel to accelerate your time to market; but also to design your solution with scalability in mind, from day 1. #Hardware #ClimateTech #Scalability #Industrialization

Jan Lozek, and I shed light on the importance of collaboration between climate tech start-ups and corporations in Business Insider last week. Here are the key takeaways: 1️⃣ Digitalization can slow down climate change: As our electricity grids transform, digital tools are crucial. In Germany alone, 2.6 million photovoltaic systems will be on residential roofs by summer 2023. This ecosystem can only be managed effectively with automated, digital tools, like Amperecloud, node.energy and metergrid GmbH are working on. 2️⃣ Unity for Climate Goals: To meet climate goals amid significant macroeconomic challenges, collaboration between startups and corporations is essential. Startups bring innovation and new technologies, while corporations provide resources, market access, and scaling capabilities. At Future Energy Ventures, we foster collaboration by bringing together innovative climate tech startups and experienced corporations to maximize impact in climate technology. 3️⃣ Decarbonization Goals: Decarbonization is still progressing far too slowly: According to a recent study by PwC, the world needs to decarbonize seven times faster to limit warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Urgent action is needed. It's time to unite and collaborate! Together, we can spearhead impactful shifts towards a future devoid of carbon, guaranteeing value for every stakeholder right from the beginning. #ClimateTech #Innovation #Decarbonization #EnergyTransition
