NOW THIS ONE DESERVES 3… POWWW POWWW POWWW👊🏿💥👊🏿💥👊🏿 Most of you know I’ve been out the game for nearly two years and in that time I’ve had many offers to return but researching how Hip Hop culture and commerce collide has been my main priority, that was until I got a call from Alec Christie from Craft with one of the best briefs I’ve seen in… well two years! The brief was to produce a culturally appropriate Hip Hop inspired advert to promote the WSL for Sky Sports. What an intersection - Sport and Hip Hop. We’ve all seen how well this performs in the US, just look at what Hov has done for the NFL over recent years as a shining example. But can we do the same here? This was the first question I asked the creative pairing of Christopher McKee & Richard Morgan. ‘The WSL is a relatively young league so we are at the beginning of creating a ground swell with the ad’ was the response, so with that it was time to punch in the clock. The creative process was incredible. The thought process, the care and attention of the story we wanted to tell, diversity in casting and the feeling we wanted to create were front and centre. This was to ensure the message connects with the streets and the general population. Jemma Burgess & Gémina Gil Flores were key to developing that balance. Presenting the idea first time round to Dave Stratton Phoebe Kite Tom Oriel and Philip Roser was a great experience. The team at Sky Sports were fully engaged and when Dave nodded and said ‘I like it’ we were off. Next step was to bring in cultural experts who know the scene inside out and we opted for Rashid Kasirye of Link Up TV LTD. His knowledge and skills kept us on the right side of appropriate. Finding a Director to translate the story into a treatment was crucial. We interviewed 5 of the best Hip Hop video directors in the UK. Each of them had a unique take on the campaign but it was Nathan James Tettey who had the edge. As well as skilled director, he’s a BIGGG fan of the WSL. He, along side Ore Okonedo and KNUCKLEHEAD were chosen as our weapons of choice. Without planning nothing happens, in walks Project Manager extraordinaire @lucy C.and together we built a project plan to ensure we didn’t miss a beat. Alongside the super talented Gifty A. backing up every play we made we didn’t! A BIGGG shout out the talent - Nadia Rose, Yungen, Steflon Don & Bugzy Malone, the influencers - Big Manny (BOOOM), Grime Gran, Nafisa Ahmed & Lirian Santos and of course the players - Beth Mead, Jen Beattie, Demi Stokes, Missy Bo Kearns & Leah Galton. Not forgetting the cameo from Rachel Yankey. Thank you Andy Ansah for coordinating the football scenes and finally and not least our accounts team - Luke Brocklehurst Oscar Flintoft & Tom Oliver. Even for those who have been in the industry for ages, there is magic when we discover how some of the things we see on screen were created. This week, I watched the video by "Corridor Crew" on YouTube explaining how sports graphics are made. “The Insane Story of Live Sports Graphics” is a 13-minute piece that explains in straightforward words complex concepts like the yellow line in American Football or the score bug that we see on screen in every match. All3Media International confirms fresh CEE deals for The Traitors #All3MediaInternational today confirmed Croatia, Slovakia and the Czech Republic as the latest countries to adapt #TheTraitors, as CEETV reported first a few months ago. In the Czech Republic, #Prima Group has commissioned a first season for the region, which has also been licensed in Slovakia for #TVJOJ. In Croatia, #RTLHrvatska has commissioned a first series and an additional territory in the region is soon to be announced, the distributor said. These follow the recent launches of the format in Hungary and Poland. #RTL’s 12-part series outperformed the slot average by 21% in Hungary, whilst episode one of #TVN’s Polish version outperformed the slot average by 28%. In the region’s licensing market, Vivid Goliath will bring The Traitors board game to Hungary and All3Media International has also signed a publishing deal with Penguin Random House Hungary. These deals join a raft of ancillary products for The Traitors that All3Media International has brought to market. In the last year a card game, official cloaks, board game, interactive Game Book, apparel line and an online game have launched in the UK, with ancillary deals also confirmed across Europe including the Netherlands, Germany and Norway.
