We’re excited to announce the completion of a solar power plant in Tauragė for Ignitis Group, an international green energy company and one of the largest developers of renewable projects in the Baltic countries, Poland and FInland. The PV is now fully operational! As we continue to expand internationally, completing this 22.1 MW solar power plant in western Lithuania is a significant step forward. Delivered by Everto, part of the Electrum Group, this project not only strengthens Lithuania’s energy system but also advances the region’s commitment to sustainability 🌞 The project involved installing over 33,656 photovoltaic modules, 58 inverters and 6 transformer stations, along with a medium-voltage line - linking the plant to the nearby Lauksargiai substation, ensuring a steady flow of clean energy into the local power grid - and developing local infrastructure, including the installation of KAS cabinets and energy analyzers. Construction, spanning May 2023 to July 2024, highlights our team’s dedication to delivering high-quality results in complex international projects. “Our high qualifications and extensive experience in the installation and operation of energy equipment are confirmed by key #VERT certifications and the recently obtained #SSVA certification. These credentials allow us to execute large and complex renewable energy projects in Lithuania. We are proud to contribute to the development of a sustainable energy mix for our neighboring countries”, says Aleksander Olszewski, Project Director at Electrum. Our work in Lithuanian renewable energy doesn’t stop here – we’re currently building a 42.2 MW solar farm in Mažeikiai in partnership with Public Company "ORLEN Lietuva" as part of the modernization of an existing refinery. Each step we take in Lithuania and beyond strengthens our commitment to a cleaner, more resilient energy landscape. By advancing renewable energy infrastructure and fostering sustainable partnerships, we’re not just responding to today’s demands - we’re actively building the foundation for an energy future that respects our planet. #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #Electrum #Everto #IgnitisRenewables

A recent Daily Maverick article illustrated what can be achieved with intention and the will to drive positive change. Whilst we must point out that this initiative does not form part of our investment portfolio, we do celebrate the difference that alternative forms of clean energy can effect. The Brandvalley and Rietkloof wind farms that are under construction in the Karoo will each be able to generate about 590 gigawatt hours of energy per year when completed. That's what we call progress! 🔗https://lnkd.in/dWEEFSsj #RenewableEnergy #CleanEnergy #SouthAfrica

We’re excited to share that we will provide Faerch Group with green power in Finland after signing our first Finnish Power Purchase Agreement (PPA). ☀️🔋 The PPA sees Faerch contribute to establishing a new solar park near Hanko in southern Finland. The supplier of circular food packaging will offtake enough renewable energy to cover around 70% of its annual electricity consumption in Finland following the park's expected grid-connection in 2026. 💬 “Through this PPA with Better Energy, Faerch Group will have access to a consistent and renewable power supply, reducing our carbon footprint and contributing to the energy transition in Finland,” says Tom Sand-Kristensen, Group CFO at Faerch. Faerch has now signed PPAs to offtake renewable energy from Better Energy solar parks in both Finland and Poland. 🇫🇮 🇵🇱 💬 “Faerch’s decision to expand our partnership and offtake renewable energy in Finland is another example that companies see our green energy as good for business and a way to decarbonise operations,” says Mikkel Thorup, Senior Director of Power Purchase Agreements at Better Energy. The solar park will turn a former parking lot into land used for renewable energy production. 🌱 Read the full press release: https://lnkd.in/d72PQnhB

Our brand Winergy is known as one of the pioneers of the wind energy industry. And now, for the first time, we are also sourcing our own renewable energy straight from wind turbines equipped with our Winergy gearboxes. In a pioneering initiative with ECO2GROW, an innovative player in the field of renewable energies, we have concluded several Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) for the direct purchase of green electricity from wind and solar plants. The selected wind farm in southern Germany runs with our Winergy gearboxes. The partnership is another decisive step in our sustainability strategy and supports our goal of being CO2-neutral by 2030. By using renewable energy from German wind and photovoltaic plants, we are saving 7,500 tons of CO2 and cover approximately 12% of our electricity requirements for our German sites. The photo shows Flender CEO Andreas Evertz (center) and ECO2GROW CEO Paul Appel (2nd from left) together with Niklas Radermacher (COO ECO2GROW), Michael Meier and @Jörg Nießing (Flender) at the wind farm near Fulda. Once approved, construction of the Bungaban project is targeted to start in late 2025 and create up to 600 construction jobs. #supplychain #procurement #renewableenergy ...................................... Rio Tinto has signed Australia’s largest renewable power purchase agreement (PPA) to draw on Windlab’s planned Bungaban wind project to power its Gladstone plants. The deal will see it buy 80 per cent of all power generated from the 1.4GW Bungaban project over 25 years. Coming on top of a PPA announced last month for energy from the Upper Calliope solar farm, Rio Tinto said this would make it the biggest industrial buyer of renewable power in Australia. The Bungaban wind energy project, in early development, is planned for a site about 40km from Wandoan, and 290km south-west of Gladstone. Once approved, construction of the Bungaban project is targeted to start in late 2025 and it is expected to produce electricity by 2029. Connect for full story.

🌍 Major Breakthrough in Renewable Energy: Norway’s Arctic Floating Wind Farm Project Receives $193 Million Funding 🌬️ Exciting news emerged on March 10, 2024, marking a significant leap towards sustainable energy development in Arctic regions. The ambitious GoliatVind project, a floating offshore wind farm set in the pristine waters of the Barents Sea, has been awarded a substantial 2 billion Norwegian crowns (approximately $193 million) in state funding from Norway. This pioneering initiative consists of five cutting-edge turbines, each with a capacity of 15 megawatts, aimed at powering the Arctic town of Hammerfest. Among seven contenders, GoliatVind, led by Odfjell Oceanwind, Source Galileo, and Kansai Electric Power Company, emerged victorious in a tender by the government agency Enova. Norway envisions floating offshore wind technology as a cornerstone for the nation's industrial development and a strategic move to slash emissions. This project is not just about generating renewable energy; it’s about redefining Norway's offshore supply industry and significantly reducing the environmental impact of oil and gas production. Energy Minister Terje Aasland stated, "The government wants to make arrangements for floating offshore wind to become a new leg for the Norwegian supplier industry to stand on." This initiative is set to electrify offshore oil and gas installations, supplying power both offshore and onshore, signaling a shift towards a more sustainable and eco-friendly energy landscape. The GoliatVind project will connect to the existing infrastructure, utilizing a power cable that currently supplies electricity from shore to the Goliat oil platform. With an estimated operation start in 2028, the turbines could provide substantial excess power back to the shore, especially on full wind days. As Norway takes bold steps towards its green transition, another tender round for small-scale floating wind projects is already on the horizon for later this year. This development follows the successful inauguration of the Hywind Tampen floating wind farm by Equinor, which serves numerous oil and gas platforms in the North Sea. This momentous achievement underscores Norway's commitment to leading the charge in renewable energy innovation, setting a global benchmark for sustainable industrial development. Let’s celebrate this milestone and the promising future it heralds for clean energy and environmental stewardship. #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #Norway #ArcticWindFarm #GoliatVind #GreenTransition https://postly.app/3R9r
