CEO of Unified State Group & President of Eminent Future | Awarded $13.4B Defense Contract | Marine Vet | 2023 Black Business of the Year
The world is catching on – the “We need better leaders” narrative in our culture is changing, and we are living proof. I’m beyond thrilled to share that as leaders in the transformation of Africa, Unified State Group is partnering with titans at the National Black Chamber of Commerce, the The National Business League and The World Conference Of Mayors as part of the recently formed National Alliance for Black Business. Why does this matter? Because it’s about breaking barriers, overcoming the odds that many of us face – the late-night hustle, the scarcity of leadership, and the hunger for unifying that defines us. This isn’t just a celebration of one community or one people – it’s a spotlight on the potential that’s been overlooked for too long. This is our time! This movement echoes the ambitions and dreams of so many of our ancestors. I stand before you not just as an history making entrepreneur, but as a narrative that many of you share – a story of unwavering dedication, of climbing the ranks from poverty when the climb seems impossible. And now, the world’s taking note. This partnership is not just about the black American community; it’s a global movement to upgrade democracy and impact the lives of 2 Billion future babies. We are no longer asking for approval or permission. We are taking accountability and ownership of our own destiny. Join us, be part of this journey, and let’s not just watch the future happen – let’s drive it. Because if you’re not paying attention, you’re not just missing out – you’re missing the chance to be part of history in the making. This is God’s plan in action! Get on board, or watch this ship sail – the choice is yours. #Innovation #BreakingBarriers Charles H. DeBow, III Ken L. Harris, Ph.D. Tyreek Moore Jacques-Philippe Piverger Richard J. GOTHAM ALUMNI HIGHLIGHT: Will Raybon Will Raybon is a Gotham 7 alumni and is a Key Account Manager. Here’s what he says about his role: “[I] create and direct global account strategies across multiple business functions.” How did your experience in Gotham shape the way that you engage with your work today? “Performance-based self-worth and the ”I-It" lens was more or less my default point of view at work prior to Gotham. In my line of work, we often talk about 'partnerships' with customers, but don't back them up. Gotham, revealing the redeeming beauty of our work, helped me look for true partnerships with customers. Readings, teachings, and discussions with my cohort helped me understand the value in my customers' work as well as mine. When the "I-it" lens is removed and an "I-Thou" lens is applied, true partnership is able to be achieved. With that point of view, so much pressure is removed, and a new joy in work is uncovered.” What was your most impactful experience in Gotham? “The civil rights City Saturday.” #NIFW #leadership #faithandwork

President at Oklahoma Tribal Finance Consortium | REDW Principal | Greater OKC Asian Chamber - President | Keynote Speaker | Pursuer of Excellence | Adventure Seeker | Fun Ambassador | Passionate Community Collaborator
They say the secret ingredient to the best recipes is LOVE... Things made with love usually do taste better after all. They also say that the supposed secret ingredient to success is HAPPINESS. It is true that you will typically be more successful if you are happy with what you are doing. I wonder then... what's the secret ingredient to successful partnerships...? I would venture to guess that the secret ingredient is being INTENTIONAL. - Intentional about understanding eachothers needs; - Intentional about supporting one another; - Intentional about positive and proactive communication; - Intentional about constructive conflict resolution; and - Intentional about collaborative success. See exhibit A with successful partners being intentional: the Oklahoma City Thunder graciously hosted the Greater OKC Minority Chambers (The Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce , @Oklahoma City Black Chamber, AICCOk American Indian Chamber - OKC chapter and Greater Oklahoma City Asian Chamber of Commerce). The best partnerships aren't dependent on a mere common goal but on a shared path of intentionality, desire, and no small amount of passion. While each organization does great things on their own...together we can do so much more. #thunderup #bettertogether #letsgo #okcminoritychambers Scott Loft Dan Mahoney @katrina wiley David Castillo @joanne davis Debbie Lindsey Nathan Hart Scarlet Le-Cao
