Mines Ministry neglecting small-scale miners, parliamentary report shows Small-scale miners in the country feel neglected by the government, with the Ministry of Mines and Energy criticised for not providing the necessary support that contributes to their growth, according to a parliamentary report. The parliamentary report on Natural Resources, Economics and Public Administration highlighted the critical need for state funding to support small-scale miners in Namibia. We invite our valued shareholders to read the Quarterly Activities Report for the period ending 30 September 2024. This quarter marks significant progress at our Mumbezhi Copper Project in Zambia, where we have made great strides with our maiden drilling program. A total of 34 holes have been completed, covering 4,517 meters, as part of our effort to expand the high-grade copper mineralisation at Nyungu Central.   Notably, the results have been promising, with wide intersections including 64.3m at 0.53% Cu, 15.2m at 0.73% Cu, and 12.0m at 1.13% Cu. These results validate the potential of our historical data sets and bring us closer to declaring a maiden JORC Copper Mineral Resource for the Nyungu deposits, which we are targeting in Q1 2025.   In addition to our exploration activities, we successfully raised A$9.1 million in new equity, further strengthening our financial position as we continue to accelerate our growth-focused drilling and development workstreams. We also welcome @ Ian Goldberg to our Board as Executive Director Finance, bringing valuable leadership as we advance our strategy at Mumbezhi.   Our CEO, Sam Hosack, highlighted that these are exciting times for Prospect Resources as we take confident steps towards unlocking the full potential of the Mumbezhi Project. A truly insightful and engaging two days at the #JoburgIndaba this year. The cautious optimism was palpable with signs that the #GNU is definitely impacting the South African mining industry in a positive way. A few of the topical points this year included- - how do we learn from other countries and drive #exploration in South Africa in order to continue the growth path of the industry - which minerals are #criticalminerals and what does that mean for the mining companies - what are Big Business and Small Business seeing in the industry and what are they doing to assist in driving growth and economic development in the country - what legislative reforms are needed to encourage investment and to assist with ensuring the industry remains a “sunrise” industry. I have given a few suggestions around the last point in my recent article in #SAMining. It was also truly encouraging to see so many DMPR officials, Council for Geoscience representatives, the DDG, the DG and the Minister at the #JoburgIndaba. In fact the Minister was there for both days… engaging the various stakeholders in person… Is this not a sign of the “trust gap” closing? Thanks again to Bernard Swanepoel and his incredible Resources for Africa team for pulling off a truly worthwhile event!
