Not a bad day at our bar! Been told during an interview not too long ago: You can't have your own rock laid back bar without many standards and run a high end F&B operation in a hotel. Is totally different. *It is and I did not get the job* The understanding of the markets and their differences and how to approach them is the key of success not only in Food and Beverage but in hospitality. Every market is different.. every market has potential. #FoodAndBeverage #Hospitality #Concepts

A strategic approach to a hotel's food & beverage approach can drive revenues. This requires hotel restaurants to shift from having a generic image to creating memorable dining experiences that attract both hotel guests and local patrons. Check out these strategies for making hotel restaurants stand out from the competition and compete with popular standalone eateries. ✔️ Develop a unique concept that aligns with the hotel's overall brand and reflects the local context. ✔️ Prioritize high-quality ingredients, creative dishes, and impeccable service to exceed guest expectations. ✔️ Source local ingredients and incorporate regional culinary influences to create a sense of place and attract local diners. ✔️ Design an inviting ambiance with thoughtful decor, music, and lighting to complement the dining experience. ✔️ Train staff to deliver attentive and personalized service that caters to individual guest preferences. ✔️ Cater to non-hotel guests by actively promoting the restaurant in the local community. ✔️ Give the restaurant some operational autonomy to allow for menu innovation and marketing tailored to its unique concept.

Very interesting story about the man who runs the Michelin Guide. As someone who has done restaurant and hotel PR for two decades, I have gone back-and-forth on the overall importance of awards. Do they truly impact the quality of the business itself? Does having a star (or two or three or five, depending on the award) improve the quality of the experience of your guests? What do you think? The most important factoid in this article is this one: "The stars are awarded to the establishment itself, not to a particular dish and not to the chef. A departing cuisinier cannot take their stars with them." So the next time you read a press release referring to the first new restaurant of a hot young "Michelin-starred" chef you'll know it's baloney. #michelinguide #awards #starratings #hospitalitynews #publicrelations https://lnkd.in/eYkvnQMQ
