What an E commerce Manager is NOT: The significance of an E commerce Manager in a hotel's revenue is becoming increasingly crucial. However, understanding the profile of the right individual for the role is essential. Let's explore what an e commerce manager is not: 1. A computer science graduate who, in the absence of job opportunities, ventures into e commerce due to computer familiarity but lacks any experience in the hotel industry. 2. A nephew, niece, cousin, son, or daughter who, being computer literate, assumes they can take on the position. 3. An employee dividing their work time between reception, reservations, and e commerce because of surplus time and a lack of knowledge on how to utilize it effectively. 4. Someone who knows how to build websites. If you have any of the above individuals in this role, it's time to reassess your goals, measure lost revenue, evaluate the employee, and consider hiring a specialized collaborator. Would you ever entrust the keys to your house (your income in this case) to just anyone?" #hotelecommerce #revenuemanagement #hotelsadvisor

Customer Experience QA Lead for Learning & Development and Performance Management. BCom Honours Graduate: Industrial & Organizational Psychology
What’s the difference between customer service and customer support? Every business offers customer service, yet not all require customer support. Take a restaurant, for instance; it delivers customer service during seating, ordering, and payment. However, the waiter is unlikely to instruct you on how to cut your steak. This is why these teams are often the first to be downsized. Founders may not grasp the distinctions or fully understand the roles they're hiring for, causing a snowball effect that creates a perception that people helping people to solve problems doesn't have value. #customerservice #customersupport #valuecreation #customercentric #customersatisfaction

Hospitality and Luxury Goods Sales Executive | B2B and DTC | Customer Care Manager | Chef, Story Teller, Customer Success Champion
The #1 lesson I learned about hospitality was at age 16, working at a mom and pop froyo shop... It was my second job...ever. I worked a shift next to the owner. A little intimidating. Super busy summer day. I ran the register and made the orders. The owner ran orders out to the seats. I laid down 3 of my finest chocolate/vanilla swirls ( not as easy as it looks), and said: "These are for that guy (pointing)" Boss man, puts the tray down. Gives me the death stare... "These aren't for "that guy!" This is an order for a *customer*! And they are ALL important! They are why WE are here!" When I heard that, I started seeing everything at that job differently. A random defining moment. From that day, I was hooked on the customer experience... and chocolate / vanilla swirl! How about you? #customerexperience #customerservice #retail #serviceexcellence #hospitality #summerjobs #icecream
