Experienced digital strategist adept at driving revenue through ad, sponsorship, data, SaaS, and immersive platform (ex: RBLX, Fortnite, Minecraft) sales. Huge supporter of women’s sports & my daughter the hockey player
Caitlin Clark is the tide raising all ships, but today’s gold medal finals between France and the US is the global tidal wave that will elevate women’s basketball to another level. This year, for women’s basketball, is like the 92 Olympics were for the global game of men’s basketball. After watching this game I think we are about to see WNBA fandom skyrocket. Aja jerseys are going to sell out, NY is going to go nuts for “Stewie”, and Ionescu’s star will continue to rise, especially with a gold medal and a kick ass job at the NBA all-star game shooting 3s vs the greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry. I expect the WNBA to gain viewership on TV, fill more seats, sell more jerseys and pick up more sponsors. If sneaker companies weren’t spending on these athletes before then they better start now (PS the price just went up). The gold medals for the two most popular team sports on the planet belong to the women of the US. Can’t wait for the Winter Olympics and hockey - gold or bust, we’ve got enough silver. One more thought: The PWHL (Professional Women’s Hockey League) may be new, but it’s time to grow that league more quickly. Growth can’t take 20 years, it’s gotta be now. Get these teams names, and pay the athletes so the league is filled with the best of the best. #womenssports #sports #basketball #usabasketball #soccer #usasoccer #olympics #teams #hockey #wnba #pwhl #athletes #aja #stewie #ionescu #france #usa #sponsors #jerseys #teams #goldmedal #sponsorships #advertising #marketing #tvads #sneakers #gold #silver #bronze #soccer #usasoccer

Women's hockey came to play and is here to stay in 2024! 🙌 • For the latest updates on the business side of women's sports, subscribe to our free, 3x-weekly sports biz newsletter: https://lnkd.in/edbYJUQj 💌 • The U.S. lost to rival Canada in OT in the gold medal match of this year’s IIHF Women’s World Championship last night in Utica, NY. The competition, which began in 1990 and has featured these two nations in the championship 22 out of 23 times, introduced a new element to the ice this year: the PWHL. Here’s how the pro women’s hockey league is impacting the game. 👇 • 🏟️68K: The number of fans who attended this year’s tournament, up almost 15% YoY with average attendance of 2.3K per game. After the U.S. and Canada welcomed a record crowd of 4K for their preliminary match, their gold medal match sold out. • 9️⃣: The number of participating countries (out of 10) that broadcast this year’s tournament, with Japan and China broadcasting it for the first time, and seven countries televising the gold medal game. 👏 • 2️⃣3️⃣: The number of brand partners the league has teamed up with during its inaugural season, which bumps to 34 when official PWHL suppliers are included. This doesn’t include team sponsorships or group sponsorships like PWHL Canada’s deal with BIC razors, another deal sharpening Canada’s edge in PWHL backing and brand exposure. 💰 • 0️⃣: The number of times Czechia has hosted an International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s World Championship, with the European country slated to host for the first time next year. Hosting an international tournament tends to generate buzz and uplift the sport in the host nation — just ask Australia. • 7️⃣: The number of National Hockey League (NHL) venues that will host a PWHL game this season, the latest addition being the 16.5K-seater Prudential Center in New Jersey. Since PWHL New York decided to abandon its 10K-seater home at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, CT, they will now play their remaining home games at two NHL venues, one of which is UBS Arena, home to the New York Islanders. • 🤝100,000: The number of women and girls registered to play hockey across the country this year, a record for USA Hockey.

Edmonton Oilers… the defeat may still be fresh and unfortunately we Canadians have to say “Maybe next year” yet again… but Edmonton showed the impact sports can have not just on a city or a province, but a country! 1️⃣ The most viewed game EVER on Sportsnet in Canada: 7.55 million average audience The entire country came together to support Edmonton and cheer them on, putting aside any rivalries and ignoring which individual team we support because a Canadian team could finally bring home the Stanley Cup - they didn’t… but they could have. 2️⃣ The SECOND most viewed hockey game in Canadian History Falling just short of Vancouver Canucks being defeated by Boston in 2009, the broadcast reached over 15 million Canadians according to Beamont News. Yes, that means 39% of Canadians had clicked on the game at some point during the game to see how it was going. That is insane to think about! 3️⃣ Most viewed game in the NHL for the last 5 years Averaged 16.3 million viewers — the second-largest combined audience for an NHL game. 4️⃣ The NHL is against Canadian Teams winning the Stanley Cup Okay this point is just for fun because I have heard it so much from other canadian fans and it makes me laugh when I hear it 😂 But back to the point, sports have such an amazing impact on communities, and the NHL broadcasters have been able to capitalize on this to not only grow their business but also grow the sport itself through their branding, marketing, and sponsorships. Looking into the future, this shows the opportunity that so many emerging leagues have, and more importantly, the opportunity for different broadcasters have to capitalize on the market share, support the teams, and grow the local fanbase. All in all it was an amazing series to watch from start to finish. And who knows? Next year we might just see a Canaidan team lift the Stanley Cup… right? #StanleyCup #CanadianSports #NHL #Sports Businesses Sources: https://lnkd.in/e3ywMJTB

#Mondaymotivation Reflection on Leadership #inspirationalleaders #rolemodel #leadbyexample #setthetone Wigan Warriors won the World Club Challenge match on Saturday night but the real winner was the sport of rugby league. Both head coaches, Matt Peet and Ivan Cleary, were a model of dignity and respect. They are a credit to themselves, their clubs and the sport. From a leadership point of view, they are role models to follow. They lead by example, and they set the tone. Matt Peet In his post-match interviews, Matt time and again referenced the entire club, and its culture, not just the players on the pitch. The win was the result of everything that's done right on the pitch and behind the scenes. Ivan Cleary After such a close loss on Saturday night, Ivan was as cool, refined, and dignified as he was before the match. In fact, the players of Penrith deserve great credit too. We have all witnessed managers, coaches and players in other sports let themselves down by their reactions after close defeats. Both Matt and Ivan are class acts. Rugby league and their respective clubs can be rightly proud to have such inspirational leaders as head coaches. And they are excellent examples of how leaders can, and should, conduct themselves. #kudos #peoplematter #culturematters #leadershipmatters Wigan Warriors Rugby League Club Penrith Panthers #peoplemakeplaces #peoplemakethedifference #peoplemakeithappen #workplaceculture #teamappreciation #motivationalmonday #motivation #inspiration #inspireothers #inspirational #inspirationalleadership #leadership #leadershipqualities #mindsetmonday #mindsetmatters #mindsetforsuccess #success https://lnkd.in/eJNdQs5G
