The staff in Cayambe wanted to make a trip to the beach a possibliity for the children in the Home for At Risk Children. We decided that we wanted to take the children and all of the staff to the beach to reward them for their hard work as well as to make it be a big send off for the Delps as they transition to the US for Ministry Assignment. Most all of the children in the Home have never been to the beach even though it isn’t that far away. Additionally, some of the staff members have never seen the sea as well. We want to have a retreat for the staff and the children to be able to enjoy the beach together. The Santiago Partnership has decided to support the FACE staff in achieving this dream. The budget for the trip is only $3,000. We will be receiving donations between now and the end of May (May 31st). Please designate your donation by selecting the campaign “Home for At Risk Children.” All of the donations given to the Home for At Risk Children between now and the end of the month will be designated for this initiative. Click the link below to donate. (Any proceeds received above the needed $3,000 for the beach trip budget will be allocated to General Support.) https://ow.ly/MrOZ50RmIsA #BeachTrip #SeetheSea #SantiagoPartnership #StoriesofDignity #socent #artisanjewelry #women #justwages #impinv #SVC #dometicviolenceawareness #domesticviolence #survivorsofdomesticviolence #womenempowerment #metoo #abusesurvivor #trauma #healing

As we approach the final stretch of the year, many charities are feeling the strain of the ongoing strike between Canada Post / Postes Canada and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers. Traditionally, this time of year is crucial for year-end giving campaigns as many charities receive at least half of their annual donations during the final three months of the year, with December being the most pivotal month. While we often think of ourselves as living in a digital age, the reality is that 32% of Canadians still prefer receiving direct mail for charitable appeals. This makes the current postal delay a significant threat to donation revenue. Donors might receive appeals too late, mailed donations could face delays, and some may choose to postpone their contributions altogether. As a result, charities could face a substantial loss of funding at a time when they need it most. According to many recent reports, charities that rely heavily on direct mail fundraising could see a drop in year-end donations by up to 50% due to the strike. A long-term postal strike will substantially hamper the sector’s fundraising results for 2024. This is happening at a time when many parts of the sector are struggling with a combination of increased operating costs, increased demand and staff and volunteer shortages. The strike's impact is especially significant for smaller charities, which often lack the digital infrastructure of larger non-profits. Studies indicate that 60% of small organizations rely primarily on direct mail for year-end fundraising efforts. While some organizations are pivoting to digital campaigns, the reality is that direct mail appeals yield an average response rate of 5.3%, compared to just 0.6% for digital campaigns, which highlights the financial risk many charities face with the postal strike. Charities are doing their best to adapt, urging donors to use online platforms, email, and phone calls to make their contributions. However, the reality is that this postal disruption will likely shape the landscape of charitable giving for the remainder of 2024—and possibly beyond. As we near #GivingTuesday, let's support our favorite charities by considering digital donations and helping to spread the word. Every effort counts during these challenging times! #YearEndGiving #CanadaPostalStrike #Charity #NonProfit #Fundraising #SupportLocal #Canada

A brand-new mattress can be a life-changing gift for many. It is a big expense that can be out of reach for vulnerable families or individuals, with many opting for alternatives such as sharing a single mattress or sleeping on the floor. This is especially true for families facing circumstances such as fleeing domestic violence, displacement due to natural disasters, or recovering from homelessness. Can your business donate brand-new, high-quality mattresses to communities in need? Otherwise, donating money or simply sharing the word can make a difference. 📢 Let’s Make a Difference Together – Join My Team to Support MADA Community Center! 📢 📢 Faisons une différence ensemble – Rejoignez mon équipe pour soutenir le Centre Communautaire MADA! 📢 In a city as vibrant and diverse as Montreal, it’s easy to forget that thousands of our neighbors are struggling to meet basic needs like food and shelter. Charitable organizations like MADA Community Center play a crucial role in bridging that gap, offering free meals, groceries, and other essential services to those in need. I’m proud to partner with MADA by creating a fundraising team, and I’m inviting YOU to join me in making a real impact. Together, we can support this vital non-profit and help tackle basic needs insecurity in our community. Here’s why your support matters: • 1 in 8 households in Canada experiences food insecurity. • In Montréal, over 500,000 people live below the poverty line. • MADA serves over 500,000 meals annually, distributes thousands of grocery baskets, and offers countless other programs, but demand continues to grow. Yet, despite the need, charitable giving in Canada is declining. A recent report showed that only 19% of Canadians made charitable donations in 2023, down significantly from previous years. Now is the time to reverse this trend. Supporting MADA doesn’t just help those in need—it strengthens our entire community. Every dollar raised provides tangible assistance, from a hot meal for a struggling senior to grocery staples for a family trying to get back on their feet. How you can help: 1. Donate: Even a small contribution can make a huge difference. 2. Join my team: Together, we can amplify our impact. 3. Share this post: Help spread the word about MADA’s important work. Click on the link below to donate under my team or join me in this meaningful cause. Let’s show the power of our community and ensure no one in Montreal has to go hungry or live without hope. Thank you for your support! 🙏 #MADACommunityCenter #Montreal #CharitableGiving #FoodInsecurity #MakeADifference

We've now begun receiving our $200 cheques from the provincial government to make up the hard times we are experiencing. Although a nice boost, $200 for a single person won't be a lot to deal with our ever-rising housing and food costs. Together though, that $200 turns into $3 billion. Think of what the government could have done with $3 billion instead of these cheques. We could have greatly benefitted from the services that $3 billion would provide instead of individual cheques. Since the money is now in my hands, I'm choosing to donate it, following the #200Ontario movement. A non-partisan initiative to make our province a better place and donate our cheques to organizations that really need it. I will be donating mine to TNG Community Services for their great work in combatting homelessness and poverty but you can pick whatever organization speaks to you. You can find a list of suggested organizations here: https://lnkd.in/gZVJU7r3 We can #donatetogether because a better world is possible.
